Compared the i25 driver today to my Anser, and tried out the Taylormade SLDR just to mix it up. For me and my swing the i25 spins about 400 RPM's less than both the Anser and the SLDR driver. I tend to put a lot of backspin on the ball with my driver so I'm always looking for something that spins less. The new ping 75g shaft felt good and worked well with I25 head. The tungsten weights seem to do what they were designed to do by keeping the flight of the ball straight even when miss hit. Even the ones that I thought got away from me stayed straight. They didn't travel as far, but would have been playable. I like the look of the more traditional head and didn't mind the Ping racing stripe at all. Honestly didn't even notice it being there so it's not even a factor to me. If your looking for a smooth traditional looking driver that is low spinning then you should give the Ping I25 a shot. I know I'm looking forward to mine coming in next weekend. Keep em in the short grass!!

To those that had a chance to hit the I25 driver and currently play the Anser:
Thoughts on difference? Does it fall in between G25 and old I20 for forgiveness and spin as some had said?
I like my Phenom shat in Anser - Do Answer shafts work in I25?
Thanks, Mac
Ping said to expect a -425 rpm spin rate vs the g25. I think the anser will still be lower spin
No, I think it was -431. haha.

The i25 is a lower spin drive than the anser according to ping. But higher MOI.
Just looked back at my email, 475 what was quoted, only relaying the 411 i got. So lower spin but higher launch (MOI)

Will be an interesting comparison to the Anser
I've hit them side by side and the i25 is pretty damn low spin.
what where some of the performance differences? Anser to i25, worth the change?

Yes, worth the change.

Station, I saw them on the selling floor at both PGA Superstore & Golfsmith here in the Dallas area last Sunday. I'm headed that way this afternoon so I'll try to remember to take a pic and post, if they haven't sold out.
Shocking - The local PGA SS is one of the retailers I mentioned that's not letting them out the door.

It's interesting because PGA SS lost their right to sell Titleist a few years ago by discounting (not following Titleist rules for sales). It's now been re-instated. You'd think they'd walk the straight and norrow. PING yanked Discount Dan's rights as a reseller a few years ago. I got one of the last PING sets they sold :/

These mfgs aren't messing around.

I swore i was going to stay away from the i25 line up, as I'm really happy with my bag. Curiosity got the best of me and took a look at the hybrids while getting some new balls for wife and I. God i wish i didnt hit them. They were sweet. Cant wait to put them up against my i20's and g25. Again really excited about i25 26* hybrid.

For some odd reason, I'd actually prefer the stripes over the typical Ping alignment aid, as on the Rapture. For me, that half moon design is too much.
I agree. I've never liked the half moon. The stripes are well done IMO.

I'm really liking the racing stripes. Was on the fence about them, until I saw them in person. I'll take a 10.5 driver, a 3w and 26* hybrid, please and thank you - oh wait, I can't place my order here?

But I really have to put the driver and 3w up against my current ones.

I hit the i25 irons, hybrid, and driver. All solid, but no real difference over the previous models outside of the driver which had exceptional control. Irons provided no more control or distance over the i20 and Anser.

The racing stripe seems to blend into the head of the driver at address. I hit the 10.5 with the PWR 75 Tour Stiff today. A little hooky but defintely playable. Longer than my 913D3.
I have the opposite experience. If I hit 3 different drivers then move to the i25, I'll fade at the neutral setting.

If I hit 10 shots with the i25 and hit them straight - when I change back to any other driver I over-draw them.

Everything about the i25 wood lineup is fade bias in my hands. (not slice - gentle fade). Even the hybrid is Onset.

Sorry. Haven't come back to this thread in a few days. When I went back that afternoon, they had slapped "DEMO" on those models and moved them to the DEMO area, so either someone had made apparently made a mistake and accidentally put them on the sales floor......or someone from the OEM must have heard and called. So, it must have been okay to allow people to DEMO, they just couldn't sell until that date.

I got to hit the I25 driver and 5 wood toady. I hit the 10.5 with the 65pwr shaft. It was launching a little lower then optimal but it was still longer then the g25 10.5.

I don't necessarily believe the golf galaxy monitor. Haven't played in about 3 months so I'm rusty. Driver swing speed was 98-106. I25 was high 220 to low 230s with launch only 10-12*. G25 10.5 was mid 220s distance wise.

I25 18* 5 wood felt great. Was averaging around 200 yards with it.

The lines didn't look bad at all. Liked the shape of the club heads.

I like the sound of this, G25 included? Something with less propensity to go left is good in my book and I like my G25.

I've come to the conclusion that launch monitors are all right for comparing club to club - but not club to reality.
I agree with this. I don't really put much stock in the numbers. Actually the ones that give me the worst numbers seemed to work better on the course.

On the range with trackman is the way to go. Course temperatures were in the teens today.

When it warms up I'm gonna test the I25 against the SLDR and see what wins out. If neither I'll just wait for the Titleist 915 last this year most likely.

anyone know how the i25 driver compares to the anser? thanks
I think it sits perfectly in between the anser and g25. My optimal results were with the i25. too low launch/spin with the anser and too high launch/spin with the g25. The i25 was ideal launch/spin for me compared to the anser and g25.

I liked the pics but was skeptical of the racing stripes. Well, that skepticism has been dashed. The driver and fw's are simply perfect in their appearance. The racing stripes are much better than the old alignment aid and not obnoxious at all. Both feel excellent and are much more forgiving than the i20. The hybrid is simply gorgeous as well. Ping never fails to impress.

Got to see them today, didn't hit them as I hurt my back shoveling yesterday, but the stripes are really well done. Wish they would have put them in the Rapture 3w.

I hit the i25 hybrid and i25 Fairway 18* and was mightily impressed with them. The Stock shaft is plenty good enough in both. The hybrid gave me some solid numbers that gap filled really nicely, but the real star was the i25 18* Fairway for me. Standard PWR 75 Tour Stiff flex, and I'll take 245-250 off the tee with a nice draw any day of the week. Fairly shallow face, which helps off the deck. A really solid typical Ping Club. No frills, but does what it says on the tin, very well indeed.

Received an i25 5 wood yesterday.

I was impressed by how good this club is stock. I always like Ping woods, but generally have to find a more accomodating shaft. The PWR 75 Stiff is this club was very smooth, and could take all I could give it. I didn't expect that by looking at the specs.

I also really like the strips. They make it very easy to line up appropriately. I had no plans to get anything but the 5W, but this club is so solid, I am going to have to try the Driver and 3W now.

I received my i25 driver in this week. I went with the 9.5 to battle it out against my 8.5 g25. I am booked solid with jobs until the end of March so it might be a while before I can compare them. Looks wise I much prefer the shape of the i25 head and the stripes are actually really nice. The g25 beat out my i20 on performance but I am hoping for the i25 to send the g25 to the classified.
