Don't understand the need to put the name on the top of the crown. The stripes are ok, but what purpose does the Ping on the crown serve. No use from an advertising standpoint and I hope the owner remembers who the manufacturer of the club they are playing is. Does make you appreciate the previous alignment mark. Hopefully they will bring a Rapture driver next since the Anser line of woods seems to have been cancelled.. Odd since lots of pros seemed to like the Anser hybrids..

It's funny that Ping puts the stripes and it's ok but if Taylormade does it it's the end of the world!

There are a few understandable reasons why though...

1) TMAG is TMAG and that includes the face paint, #ier and another 17 yards
2) TMAG claimed that the white and the stripes helped with alignment it was clearly for marketing. They now own the color white in terms of woods.
3) Lets face it, a lot less people care about Ping. It would be like Fred Funk having the same scandal that TW had. Would Fred Funk make TMZ?
4) Ping's stripes are obviously not for marketing as they can barely be seen. Weather they work or not is a different story.

Also, keep in mind that Ping plays to a different audience....folks who like their highly engineered product to be packaged in a more classic looking product that is less flashy in general (performance is what matters, not selling clubs or catching eyeballs). The stripe for Ping is a big step for them, from a design perspective. Prior to that, what was their flashiest design, the use of neon-ish green on the Rapture line?

Lower spin than G25, not quite as low as Anser.

Almost as forgiving as G25, much more forgiving than I20.

Offering 3 shaft weight options too which I like, 50's, 60's and 70's (depending on flex for exact weight).

All correct. nod.gif

I don't care how many PWR options they provide, I really expect a separate non proprietary option for the I line of woods and hybrids.

So lame. Here's an idea- let's release the exact same clubs but make them uglier.
All due respect, that's a bit harsh IMO. I'll agree that the stripe is not something I immediately love, but I don't think it's fair to say that this is the same club as the i20. yes, the changes are incremental, but it's all about giving the golfer options, which is great. The i20 was a solid driver, but being able to now switch out shafts, and (have Ping) adjust the weighting is great. Also, I love the option of having different weights for stock shafts. As someone who likes a ~70g shaft, it's always driven me nuts having to upgrade the shaft just to be able to maintain a weight I like.

G25 driver with glued hosel, could be interesting, other clubs are boring (cant see any major improvement Vs i20)
PING designed their adjustable hosel to play exactly like a glued hosel so creating a glued version would not change performance, only aesthetics. . They were very adamant about having an adjustable hosel not impact performance by moving too much weight to the hosel section of the club.

The i25 driver is considerably more forgiving than the i20 but maintained the low spin qualitities. Considerable improvement IMO.

Guess I found a new 5 wood and hybrid to put in the bag to replace my tour issue original RBZ's. Clean look and love the race stripe matte finish. Now I just gotta find a set that plays a little open as my woods are all 2.0-2.5 degrees open. Good thing I waited to see these as I was almost ready to pull the trigger on the G series. Matrix Ozik Black Tie is gonna look so murdered out!

i'm a very big fan of the multiple shaft weight options on the I25. I believe they are the only OEM doing that stock. That is good for guys who like the heavier shafts

I really like this release, mostly because i loved the I20 line. If it ain't broke, just add racing stripes

Fun fact, the stripes are the exact width of a golf ball to help with alignment.
