Long time coming, but here's a few potato quality pictures on the upcoming toy:

Better pics to come once I have it in hand (arriving Friday).

Is that a refinish?

It's certainly not a gloss head, I can tell you that. Good eye. I'll have it in hand tomorrow and should be able to take some pictures tomorrow when I get back or Saturday for sure.

Alright, got it out and snapped some better pictures. As mentioned, it is a matte head. Courtesy of ROBOPTI himself. If you see Cobra release a later version of the LTD/Pro in a matte finish, y'all can thank him. They've seen it, they LOVE it (and so do the players) so I hope they make this an actual thing.

Shafts pictured are the XPHLEXXX Agrea Red Stripe (currently first to be tested) and a copper prototype created specifically for one of the Cobra staffers. The red is RED, and looks awesome. ROBOPTI built everything up for me, and he thinks the prototype with the copper looks best against the matte head, but they both look absolutely fantastic. I also got a HZRDUS Black 75 with it as well, so I have options, which is always a good thing. Pics below. I'll update once I actually get a chance to hit the thing! I'm hoping to get out to at least the range tonight or early next week, but there's A LOT of personal stuff going on right now so golf has taken a major backseat for the short term. Playing next Thursday, so worse case, that would be the maiden voyage.

I've told many others, in all seriousness, you're doing yourself a disservice by not trying them out. They really are good. Yes I know Rob personally, but he designed a GREAT shaft for us mortals to use.

Had a chance to take both out the other day and hit about 10 shots with each. They were your typical range balls, and I was dead nuts into the wind where I was.

Red Stripe: Setup is 256cpm (Rob's mid range stiff) tipped 1/2", maybe SLIGHTLY more. Felt really stiff. I'm not the first to mention this either. 256 tipped 1/2" is going to come out around 261cpm or somewhere right around there. Based on testing, each tipped inch will add about 10cpm to the shaft. For reference, the Agera I had before was 257cpm and wasn't tipped at all, that's what I had in the XR. That's what was setup at Gear Trials when they procured our 'gamer' shafts. Fitter suggested something just a bit stiffer to handle everything when I was swinging well. It worked great on the off days, but the days where I was swinging well, I did have some two-way misses going on, but as a 6, it's not like I'm PingMan, let's be honest here. The shaft looks AWESOME, but I was struggling a bit with it. Rob explained it a bit to me, so the shafts are constructed just a bit different. I can get into that if anyone really cares.

Orange Prototype: This was Rob at his finest, including this shaft as I sent him the head direct from Cobra so he could work his magic. He told me he was going to set it up and to let him know the results. He didn't give me ANYTHING to go off of (flex, tipping, nada) as he wanted honest feedback. Again, I hit both about 10, maybe 15 times on the range, and I hit the red stripe first. Results weren't what I was expecting, so I put the Orange Prototype in there to see. HOLY ****. The harder I went, the better it got. I'm not sure if that's a good thing for me or not. I carry between a 5.5-6.5 handicap and I average just over 3 penalties per round, about 90% of them coming off the tee. Irons are my strength. I hit 10-12 GIR per round, but if I'm not taking penalties, I'm a little north of that. Putting is average, chipping is probably slightly better than average. Driving is my weakness. I talked to Rob tonight and the Orange was a 263cpm X straight in, no tipping. After giving him my feedback (which was similar to a few others) he knows the tip is being a bit more active in the Prototype and that's helping me. The construction (mainly the layering) of the shafts is different which is the main reason they feel so much different. The red feels almost boardy (I'm a big ProForce V2 fan, so that's a familiar feeling to me) which normally I like, but just wasn't getting along with it. The orange prototype had me smiling just about every shot.

I'm playing in an event tomorrow so that should give me a feel for how things go on course, problem is, it's a scramble (boo, I know) and the other three guys in my group are.............not great at best. Regardless, I'm going to give the Orange a run tomorrow and keep testing them out. I have a feeling the Orange is going to be the go-to shaft for me as it just seems like I can aim up the left side and swing until I'm about to fall over. The only way it's going left is if I royally mess up the swing, which I have no doubt will happen now and then. However, if I can aim up the left and most of the time, at worst, end up slightly in the right rough, that'll do wonders for my game when I'm actually able to play semi-frequently. Lots of personal stuff going on (new job, new house, selling current house, three girls 5 and under, being rockstar husband/father, etc etc) doesn't allow me a ton of time for golf, but that's why this is even more important.

Anyway, to finish up the novel, I had the sun setting tonight with the orange prototype so here's a bit of that goodness:

That orange with the LTD looks amazing. I have an LTD on the way to try with an Arcane shaft. Had good success with the fly z+ Aracne but looking for a little better feel and sound out of the LTD.

I hit both the Bio Cell + and Pro, skipped the Fly-Z line. I think you'll certainly get some better sound out of the LTD, can't comment too much on the feel versus the Fly-Z models. They did a great job with this head, no question about it. Fewer moving pieces oddly enough, even with the spaceport. The way they implemented it was really, really well done. So many times you have things come out that were GREAT in theory and horrible in actual application. The LTD does well in all aspects from my time with it.

I just shot a 74 this past weekend, and large part was due to getting some confidence with the driver which I haven't really had in a while, maybe since the L4V to be honest. I actually had one OB ball as well, that came with my trusty 3-wood off the tee :( (but still made bogey, weeeeeeeeeee). Now that I'm playing a bit more, I'm able to do exactly what I was hoping for when I had this club built...aim up the left side and just swing. The harder I swing, the better it gets. ROBOPTI knows his stuff and he set up the Agera red stripe the way I wanted, but he sent me this Orange proto and didn't tell me anything about it. I gave him my feedback on both of them, and honestly, the red hasn't seen the light of day since the orange went in. I need to give it another shot or two, but I've been hitting the orange pretty darn well for the most part. Driving has always been my Achilles heel, so if I can get a club I'm confident and comfortable with, I should be playing much, much better.

Thanks to the posters commenting on the looks, it does look incredible :drinks:

Wow. That matte black head looks a good bit better to me than the gloss finish on that head. And paired up with the copper color of the Agera looks really cool.

What are the differences between the regular, red and copper Agera's?

I'm not 100% on all the differences, but I have a pretty good idea. J13 knows quite a lot about them as well, as do a few other guys on here but I'll take a stab at it.

Regular: Spin killer, doesn't have an ounce of what I would call a 'boardy' feel to it. Very reactive shaft, pretty stiff tip. I first tried it out to give ROBOPTI some feedback on his first non-beast-mode shaft for us mortals, and loved it.

Red: Based off the regular with a few very small changes, mostly how the paint is applied. The paint gives it a substantially different feel, that was my thought anyway and I think a few others who have hit both found the same thing. ROBOPTI explained the process to me, but it was a handful of weeks ago, at least, so it's a little rusty in my mind. It feels heavier, even though they weight almost the exact same, maybe just a few grams different. It feels much stiffer through the swing than the original does.

Orange: Prototype created specifically for a PGA player who loved it with the exception of one thing...too little torque. The orange has less torque than the regular/red which actually emphasized his miss, which is left. When there's more torque, there's a little more forgiveness built in, but he was a big fan of the shaft with that one exception. I think this prototype feels much closer to the original than the red. The red I have is a middle of the road stiff, tipped 1/2" where is the orange is an x, straight in without any tipping. I think the actual CPM values are listed previously in this thread when I first got them as I wanted to put them in there for future reference.
