More Tiger being Tiger, I mean Day being Tiger....?

I've read a lot of posts on this site that poke fun at Tiger for being dramatic about injuries; glutes not firing, the bone he had to pop back in place, etc. Now we read about Day frequently talking to Tiger for advice. Makes me wonder if the Tiger injuries are rubbing offor on Day. We had the recent back drama and now he claims he lost 11lbs during match play to sickness. Seems like is always something with this guy, now I wonder how much vertigo he really had. Just seems like he tries to make this so dramatic.

With as much talk about the matter as there has been I just found it interesting no one had brought up his weight loss claim yet.

The guy is a great golfer and seems like a good guy. The slow play and drama is a turn off though.

Any time I hear someone is battling "flu like symptoms" I can't help but laugh and imagine them partying it up too much the night before or week before. You mean to tell me guys who go to $100+ a plate restaurants are getting food poisoning but their caddies who eat at chipotle are healthy as a horse?

I ran into a tour player who will remain anonymous after their Sunday round and the guy smelled like a distillery. Rightfully so after how well they played though.

I think Day goes to Tiger for advice on winning. He's not interested in taking excuses 101.

The whole vertigo thing is difficult because only a close group of people truly know what went down. Perhaps it was severe dehydration or blood sugar issues?

The sloooooooooow play - as it is with any player - is very annoying; however, as long as I'm not paying for dinner, waking up to sobbing about those b1tches at work, or having to field calls from debt collectors who somehow got my number looking for Susie, I don't care about the drama queen stuff.

Injuries happen. I take them at face value.

Freddie always used to complain about his back, yet I don't remember anyone complaining that he might be faking.

Day's biggest problem is that he's the best golfer in the world. People can't criticise his game, swing or results, so resort to moaning about other, inconsequential stuff such as supposedly suspicious injuries and pace of play.

Wow... People are just insufferable. I understand if slow play bothers people, but to suggest he is faking injuries for the sake of being a drama queen is nuts IMO

I'm not saying he is faking them, more so that he may feel the need to highlight them. When the media asks how your back is and respond oh my back is great but I did lose 11lbs in four days....what's the point?

This isn't the first time he has had back issues, I think he had to withdraw in 2014 because of his back? I'm just saying he tends to be dramatic about his injuries.

Or maybe he's just being totally candid about them. You can take his comments either way, and the way you take them is pretty much dependent on whether you like him or not.

He doesn't have any need to exaggerate... He's world #1, USPGA champion, favourite for the Masters, and the best golfer on the planet at this current time.

D/l the Masters app. 25 min. press conferences with Day, Spieth, Nicklaus, Scott others. Fascinating stuff.

Day says he's had off and on problems with his back since he was a teenager with a bulging disc and it just flares up every now and then. Says he's been told it can actually go away. Back is fine, he says. He said every pro on the range has had some back issue at some point in their career.

Jack said he dropped to his knees on the range in 1983 (can't recall which event) with back pain but for most part, avoided any significant injury during his career. During his conference, Day told the story about almost quitting golf before his first Masters when he finished second. Jack, when asked about that, said "And you believed him?!" He didn't think much of that story. Day's too good to quit. Anyways, the videos are worth a watch.

My cleek is sometimes peevish.

Anyone who's had the form of vertigo that he has had knows it's no joke.

I agree he seems to have a lot of issues but some people are more prone than others to these things. And some people when asked are more prone to give an honest answer.

It seems to me that Day is comfortable talking about this stuff to the media, but I agree that at some point it will be in his interest to shut up and play the game before the cries of drama queen get too loud.

He seems genuine to me

Hard not to poke fun at someone saying their "glutes didn't fire". Also, Day didn't grimace after every single shot during the match play.

Also it's hard not to laugh at a guy who says he popped his bone back in place.

The whole vertigo thing is difficult because only a close group of people truly know what went down. Perhaps it was severe dehydration or blood sugar issues?

It was caused by a previously undiagnosed inner infection. They figured it out once he got home. This is a news clip on July 9 2015 from cbssports.com:

"Day met recently with Dr. John Oas, a specialist in neurology and vertigo at Ohio State. After reviewing Day's blood work and two sleep studies, Oas diagnosed Day as having an infection in his right ear.

It is possible that Day could suffer another episode of vertigo, but his medication significantly decreases those odds."

This whole thread doesn't make much sense. Being a drama queen or exaggerating injuries?? Come on. No way.

Maybe he's just too candid with the press. They want to crawl up everyone's butt with a magnifying glass these days. Perhaps he shouldn't be so accommodating. Of course then everyone would dislike him for being too private or call him a "primadonna".

I've suffered from migraines since being a kid.

There were two times vertigo showed up with it.

One was at q school finals.

I started the round and just didn't feel right. By the

6th hole I had told an official I needed to talk to medical.

They sent a paramedic out who checked me out.

I almost fell in a lake after taking a drop on one hole, saved by my caddie from that high light.

I shot 80 or 81 that day, and thought I did pretty well to just finish.

It was round two of 6 and I struggled through hoping I could make a run if I felt better.

I ended up missing exempt Buy.com by two or three shots in the end, but to get back

On topic, Jason looked uncomfortably similar at Chambers Bay to what I dealt with. Any wrong movement

Sent the world spinning, it was awful.

I always get a chuckle at some of the guys here. Isn't that a man code violation to suggest another man is faking an injury? Especially someone who plays anything at a high level.

I checked the man code before I posted but didn't see it in the table of contents so I assumed it wasn't in there...

I'm really not hating on Day as much as it seems, just thought it would be funny to point out the weight loss comment since there was a lot of talk about his back. Also the remark I made in regards to vertigo was meant with sarcasm....

Obviously I'm not one of the well known regular posters on the forum but about 99%of what I say is heavy in sarcasm or satire.

Anyways, hopefully he got back up to his fighting weight for the tourney.

Dishonest, canned answer, "I feel great" tour Player Response to questions

What a bore, this guy says Nothing, Hes like watching Paint dry. Terrible not a fan, Hope he misses the cut.

Honest, more info than asked for, open, willing to talk to media Tour pro

What an Egomaniac. The guy is clearly just looking for attention and exacerbating the extent of His injuries. And then to mention he lost weight when he was sick? What kind Of selfishness is this? Hate that guy, Hes a liar and a Phony.
