New Counterfeit Cameron Trend?

I normally don't post about this, but have never seen this before,

Just saw this on the bay, the dots inside the sole engraving seem weird, plus the "2" being larger than the font next to Newport seems off,,, photos of listing and link to auction

From what I found, the "2" is always larger. Also, the dots inside of the engraving is normal, by looking at a few other putters on Ebay. That being said, I think this one has been refinished and the resulting finish may be what is catching your eye as "off".

    I could be wrong.

I wish there was a better shot of the face milling,

LaMont is correct about the 2 being slightly larger. It's weird because I have both the 350g and the 340g versions and the 2 is larger on the 350g but it's the same height as Newport on the 340g.

It appears that it has been refinished, milling sanded but the putter is a real Cameron

I would agree that it appears genuine, just refinished. I have one in original form and an original head that I have been debating what to do with, and I will post comparison shots if I have time. As I recall, underneath the paint fill of the dots you can see the original milling.

What about this putter makes it so valuable? I would have guessed that would fetch $250 on a good day. His description sure doesn’t give me a fuzzy feeling about the putter.

Most of these are 330 g I think. 350 g fetch higher price.

350G head. So many have been trained that 330g is simply too light to control and 350 is the way to go. Also, the 350 model like this is less common, and given the very clean condition (my guess is a buyer doesn't know it's been cleaned up or restored as it's not stated) I can see where somebody might reach for it. Certainly a price I wouldn't pay though.

Never was fond of heavier putters although I've tried them - price still way too high on this putter though.

Looks good to me. I've had a couple of these over the years and I always remember the tooling marks inside the engraving.
