You shouldn't. These NEVER decrease in value. These putters are a great investment. Most are worth $1,000 more on eBay as soon as you buy them. Plus, if you have money for a $14,000 putter, you're rich. Don't feel sorry for them.

Wow great pictures and beautiful putters thanks. I'd live to have the cami co acushnet and the blue 009.

I think a better statement would be "they haven't decreased in value YET".

Sure they're cool, but I don't see the long term value in them as far as investments go, in fact I see the opposite, I see the bottom falling out of this market eventually and a lot of people who "invested" $14,000 in a putter are going to be holding the bag.

Anyone remember beanie babies? I knew someone who felt the same about those, shelling out thousands (of late '90s money) for those. Completely worthless now. These guys who buy $14k putters must be some of the saddest people on the planet, completely insecure. Just because you can spend that kind of money on something doesn't mean it's a good idea to do so.

Time will tell if I'm right or wrong but if history tells us anything, it tells us that fads like this are simply not sustainable in the long run. I feel bad for their children.

Oh and btw, for those that say these people are "rich" and it doesn't matter To them, if i was "rich" blah blah blah... I make this kind of ****-away money but I invest it much differently. It's not what you make, it's what you keep.

Thanks GolfWRX! I look forward to this thread every year. The habitual, canned, hateful posts can't even ruin this one for me. :-)

In particular, the putters with the darker finish, and contrasting silver inserts really have my attention. It looks like the inserts were milled seperately from the face which adds even more contrast. LOVE IT!!!

The 14k ones are terrible to me, but they're "art" pieces. But if I were rich there are several in the 3k range I would absolutely LOVE to put in play. A few of those golos for mallet days and the oil can 009 for when I want a classic feel. Maybe one of those super rats for regular rounds.

I don't know why there's so much animosity against the higher end stuff. If you have the money, go for it. If not, choose from his $300 models.

Agreed. Not a fan of the fancy twisted neck stuff and what have you, but I really like the clean and simple designs.

Love the GSS NP2 here too: http://gwrxmedia.golfwrx.com/media/photos/7ed86bb4cf63b99f0c4aecf92a170691.jpg

And I guess with every SC thread there must be the usual price bashing, it wouldn't feel right without those comments.

What a silly discussion. Putters are horrible investments....whining about prices and what people do with their money is childish.

Like the industrial look of some of his new stuff....but can't beat the classic designs. Thanks for the pics.

This one is my favorite. Love the dark finish and very simple. Was never interested in spending X amount of dollars on a putter until I rolled one of these.

Yeah, me too. I absolutely love the Cameron 009 with a Oil Can finish. Too bad they don't have so few left-handed of them.

On the other hand, where are the OTR Scotty's? You know, for people who want a Scotty a little cheaper ? image/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The one in the first photo is very cool. It looks like a pre-Titleist classic Cameron (circa 1990 or so).

In the second photo, my favorite is the yellow paintfill 009 with the GSS NP2 a close second.

I hope the Concept 2 influences future OTR designs. I am just not that much of a fan of where the shapes are headed these days. Something about them doesn't fit my eye. I miss the shape of the Studio Stainless and prior designs.

Who is more insecure--the guy buying the putter, or the DB whining in a golf thread about the guy buying the putter? I love these threads. I love whining. I love the holier than thou approach by the hoards. Makes me laugh every year.

So, all critical comments of any type are considered hateful?

I'll just say that for me, I prefer the Cameron putters of the mid to late 90's( especially 1998). These just have "too much" going on for me. But, obviously the marketplace feels differently and these will sell like hotcakes.
