How often do you replace your wedges?

I usually change wedges once a year, irons will usually last 3 years, unless I get itchy. Drivers every other cycle. So about 4 years. 3 wood and hybrids a long time. Now putters it could be daily, weekly, monthly, etc. they just run out of good putts.

Just bought the Cobra King MIM wedge, the Callaway Jaws 5, and a set of Ping Glide 2.0 raw wedges all within a month of each other. Before that, my wedges were about 1 year old. I obviously have a problem, as my wedge grooves and spin were perfectly fine. Just searching for a magic wedge.

I think my last set was about 8 years old. I bought the Ping Tour gorge when they came out.

Just replaced them with the Glide 2.0. Hopefully they last as long.

I replace my wedges every year. I generally play 120+ rounds per year. So I typically replace them in November or December because my wife has me pick out my 2 new wedges as one of my Christmas gifts(of course they never make it under the tree).

Depends on a couple things. The sandy underlay in SoCal can definitely beat up the grooves a little but, I think it's just up to the player. I have SM7s and a Hi Toe. Bought them all within 2 months of being released. I think they have a good bit of life left in them still.

Every year. I practice with them a lot. I wear out either my 6 or 7 iron, every 2 years, if that gives you an idea how much I practice.

I’m happily on the Vokey release schedule. Sm6 until sm7 came out. Sm8 when they come out. That’s about every 2yrs or so.

I just replaced my 20 y/o Cleveland reg 588 with a new one. It should take me to the house.

I use my 60* for almost all my short shots including sand. And I practice with it a ton. I replace it about once a year. Other wedges get replace when I notice a change in performance.

Do any of the groove sharpeners work when the grooves get worn?

He is talking about the DSG(Dynamic Sole Grind) Clevelands. Not DGS300 shafts. Great wedges. Stock shafts were different. From what I remember they felt softer to flex than s300. I also think they came 1/2" longer.

Thinking about it, my last set went about 8 years. And when they were being cleared out at 75% off I got another set that went in the bag this year.

It was last year that I noticed that I wasn't getting the check up that I was used to, which probably means that I went a season too long with them.

I'm thinking that I'll wear these out right around the time the grooves are illegal in 2024.

Probably around every 12-16 months. The reason I change is more because I want to rather than need to though.
