Best Combo or "Flow Set"

In your opinion which is the best combo or "flow set" combination? We're looking for a more forgiving long iron and more of a bladed or players short iron.

Examples:

1. 716 CB (4-6), MB (7-PW)

2. T-MB (4-5), MB (6-PW)

3. MP-25 (4-6), MP-5 (7-PW)

4. Cobra Stock "Flow Set"

5. Apex CF16 (4-6), Apex MB or Pro (7-PW)

6. Nike Fly Pro or Pro Combo (4-6), Vapor Pro (7-PW)

7. Ping I (4-6), S55 (7-PW)

Any combo of recent Mizuno MP irons, depending on your comfort level of where to make the split. All the standard lofts and lies are the same, and most flow well together. MP-h4 and MP-h5 are a little thicker in the long irons, but make up for it in performance.

I would suggest there really isnt a need for a flow/combo set. I wonder what is to be gained. The way modern GI irons are, many of the sets are kind of flow or combo sets anyway, ie; longer irons easier to launch and more forgiving and shorter irons more scoring oriented.

My particular set as one example has the bottom slot on the long and mid irons and not on the short irons. They are also made from different materials. and I bet there are other differences in design amongst the progression. Awesome irons for a guy who played forged stuff for 25 years or so until i woke up :)

It would take a really good set to beat the granddaddy of all them all...the Wilson Staff Progressive from 1993-1995. With Firestick shafts these were phenomenal clubs.

Has an apex/apex pro combo set (2014). Great set. Blended well.

Cally is offering a blended set of the new ones direct from them. Check the site.

Good luck!

I'm playing the SLDR irons. Those are just a regular cavity back in P, add an undercut cavity for 8 and 9. Then they go to an undercut cavity with the slot for 4-7. So they've got some progressive features.

Also nice because the pitching wedge is 46 while the 4 iron is 21 so you get a nice spread. One thing I hate about most GI and SGI sets is that the short irons go too far. Then I get bad gaps in the 100-150 yard range where I'm standing at 125 and don't know what to do :( With the SLDR's wedge and a 50 gap wedge I like my gaps a lot better.
