The 16mm (5/8") was fine for my Ping Putter, Vokey & Cleveland wedges.

How fat is your shaft? (that's what she said) You sure you got the 16mm? I could just about get a piece of that onto my thumb.

My Ping putter shaft is really small where it meets the head, and fit was still a non issue. The more heat you apply, the more it shrinks, so oversize should not be a problem.

16mm won't go over the end of my 8882 putter (shaft).

No worries, as I say my TPM is hopefully going to arrive back tomorrow so I can use that on that.

After five rounds with 3 clubs shafted like this, I can tell you, the durability is superb.

Less "clanking" noise and no sun glare..

I will probably do this with every putter and wedge from now on.

Apollo black is a very durable PVD gloss finish. Intended for irons and can be trimmed to desired lengths for putters. It's also available in copper. My preference is the copper.

+1 for this, I put a smoked shaft in a Wilson TPA XVIII

Haven't seen the copper shaft here in the UK. However I'd need to find a prettier putter head to put it in that this one ! :-)

It's a"Pretty" adjustable putter head! Looks are the least of my concerns and preferences. Angle interaction options. I can tweak the loft, shaft angles, 6 lengths, counterbalancing, weights, blade or mallet, and a grip offset means "pretty" to me. The shaft is not glued in, nor is the grip, and it fits a variety of brand name heads I have modified to find perfected fittings, not to mention my stat performance gains for the efforts just doesn't get any "prettier"!

Not me.

I'm happy with just doing my 3 "green-side" clubs, for the look and anti glare/anti clank features. Glare is not an issue for full swings, and all of the other clubs get pulled from the bag (usually) one at a time.

After about 20 or so rounds, this stuff looks as good as it ever did, no wear whatsoever.

It's very thin. You don't cover the entire shaft, mine goes under the grip about 1/2 an inch. I had no issues putting the grips on. (I use an air compressor)

How big does this stuff come? I was just looking at my putter which has a Flatso Ultra (the smaller version) thinking it would be cool if it were blacked out, could you get a pretty large piece of this shrink stuff and put it right over the Superstroke grip?

Those asking about plastidip. it's very easy to do with the spraycan but not durable at all in my experience (bag with no full length dividers.

This heat shrink tubing, is it pliable enough pre shrink to go over a double bend shaft on a Versa 1W?

Yes. You should be able to melt down any "wrinkles".

Also, in regards to the grip question a few posts up. When putting the shrink tubing on, there is no need to cover the entire shaft with tubing, just an inch or so under the grip is plenty. The grip overlap will cover the end.

I've had this stuff on three clubs for several months. The durability is incredible, and I really like the anti glare and anti clank features.

I have it on my "greenside" clubs which are two wedges and a putter. When I miss a green, I'll pull and carry just these three clubs.

So I'm pulling, laying down and using these clubs at least 17-18 times per round.

It also makes your clubs easy to identify from the cluster of clubs laying on the flag.

I really see no downside to this project.

It's easy, effective, cheap and completely reversible.
