I’ve had them for 2 days now and maybe hit 20 balls with the 4,7,8, and 48. I’ve been really busy at work and sick. The balls I hit on the course I really didn’t care for them! :(

I may get totally flamed for this on here...but I hate the feel of Titleist irons. They feel hard compared to many other forged irons. With that being said, the AP3 gave me good numbers. I haven't seen the new X Forged other than in pics.

 

I did just order new irons though. Mizuno MP18 MMC Fli-Hi 3 and 4 and MP18 SC 5-PW. My first ever set of Mizuno irons. Hopefully they will be in next week.

You won't get flamed by me! I'm think I should've went with my fitters recommendation with a set of Ap2's? I was getting better smash and ball speed numbers over the Ap3's. plus the dispersion was so tight with the 2's. But I was chasing distance!

New AP2s look good. I’ve hit them some. AP3s are definitely longer.

 

I still can’t find anything I like better than my VPCs. Been playing them since the release date. I’m going to give the Mizunos a fair chance. Going to be an interesting battle.

I can't wait to hear how the mizuno's stack up? Why did you pick the SC's over the MMC's? How's the blade length on these? Do they feel as good as the Nikes?

It was a tough decision between the SC and the MMC. My intent was to order the MMC irons with Modus 120. But it felt lite when I took it to the range. The last time I went out I took the SC with the PX LZ 5.5 and weight wise it felt pretty good. Trajectory was also good and distance seemed about what I wanted. I might end up bending them 1* strong but I’ll play a few rounds first.

 

Blade length on the 6 iron is fine. I’m a little nervous about the PW. I haven’t seen it and it’s usually the make or break club for me. If the PW looks bad...no chance the set will make it. Unless I can grab a T7 46 wedge and make that work.

 

I’ll let you know on feel. The heads feel great...but shaft can play a big roll in that for me. I’ve never been a PX steel shaft fan, but the LZ feels less rigid and harsh than any other shaft I’ve hit from them.

I haven’t tried the 18’s yet but Mizuno has some really good feeling irons. I’ve never liked the feel of titleist irons. The mp4’s I was looking at felt as good as my vapor pros when hit in a sim. My next set of irons will be a mizuno set at some point.

I loved the original PX but my elbow couldn’t handle them after years of playing them. The PXi would spin way too much for me. The LZ is a very solid shaft, but after playing two days in a row the pain would come back. So it’s Recoils or some other graphite shafts for now on.

 

My fitter has been in Arizona, so I have a fitting setup for Friday at 10:00.

Looking at the 18 lineup for sure, new Callaway if he has them , and anything that has a short blade length.

I’m still waiting on my MP-18s. Gonna try the G400 driver again soon. I hit the TM Wedges in the new finish. They look and feel great...even off the mat in the sim. Might have to go to them once the Engage wedges are done.

No irons yet! I was hoping for your feedback before my fitting. MG are great wedges! The blinding chrome sucks. No Mizuno wedges?

The antique bronze is much better than the Chrome. I thought about T7 wedges in Ion Blue but didn’t add them to the order.

 

I was hoping to have gotten my irons by now but it hasn’t happened yet. Oh well...working every day this week so I couldn’t get them out anyways. The demo setup I took out was good.

New shiny sticks are in the bag. Took a few to the range this morning. Feel is really good...LZ 5.5 is ok....swing was garbage.

Just hit the new Callaway Apex MB and X Forged irons (demo 7s arrived). Apex MB feels amazing. Not to fond of the X Forged just yet.

 

The Mizuno MP-18s are pretty solid. About the same numbers as with my Nike VPCs. Not completely sold on the LZ 5.5, but I hope to get back out with them again soon.

I’ve always been a DG S300 guy and I want to say we figured the DG was around a 5.7 if compared to the Rifle scale. So there shouldn’t be much difference in flex between it and the 5.5. I think my mind is making me think the LZ is weaker because of the weight difference. 115 vs 124. I know the 6.0 has always been too Stiff for me and didn’t ever seem to fit my ball flight.

That’s not what I wanted to hear! I was really looking forward to the X Forged! What’s wrong with them? I heard these will replace the Apex Pro’s and a new CF 18 will come out?

 

I really wanted the Mizunos , but no. I try them every year and I never think their that great.

Yes many people think that they play weaker in flex, but it’s the weight that throws them off, kind of like Modus.
