Need to read up more on the Steelhead XR. My 3 wood is behaving pretty well lately, but it's the spot in the bag I rotate most. More than putter even.

 

This club is money! Very forgiving and probably just as long as my Epic! This club is great out of any lie that's for sure! This club really just wants to go straight. I hit one that I thought I pushed way out to the right and very short. But when I got up to it, it was only about 10 yards shorter than a well struck shot and still in the fairway.

Which G400 did you go with??? Is that an 8.5 LST? Which shaft?

 

I had to get the standard 9* because my 90 day playability was up.

 

So, in 90-days, you swap it out for an LST. I see what you're doing here. ;)

G's clubs are changing so much it's hard to keep up!!!!!!!!! lol.

I went straight to the course from PGATSS. I got the Standard G400 9* stock stiff shaft. I really need the LST , but my 90 day playability ended yesterday and they don't know will they will be getting any LST's in.

 

Played two balls with the G and 1 ball with my buddies Epic on every hole I needed Driver on. Hit the first two with the G400 and screamed oh crap what a waste of time and money on this crap. Elevated tee box into a 20 mph cross wind. Big high cut that went absolutely nowhere! Disclaimer it was my first two swings. Every hole got better and better.

 

This thing was just as long as the Epic, but way more forgiving. It really is a fairway finder and straight. I can't wait to play again tonight. Hopefully when the LST comes in I can put them head to head.

I saw similar results with the G400 vs my M2. I hit the G400 10.5 with the stock Alta Stiff. The shaft doesn't fit me very well and I was still hitting it side by side with my M2. Solid head. Can't wait til my shaft kit comes in and I can try the KK Silver. Could be a mean combo.

Thanks. I'm not really making anything with it. Burning edges all day long. Probably because I'm really thinking about that Red #7.

I never thought I'd find a better FW than the 915, boy was I wrong! I have nothing negative to say about Steelhead. Oh I lied, the head cover is lame!

I took the Epic SZ out of my bag a few weeks ago and went back to my 816. I plan to get the SZ listed shortly and really want to try a G400 and G400 LST. I hit the LST at PGA SS a while back and I really liked it. Did you hit both the standard and the LST in the LM? Results?

Whoa... hold the phone!!! Are you saying that they have an Atmos Blue w/a PING tip @ 2nd Swing??? I'm playing an Atmos Blue 6x in my 816 right now and would LOVE to put it head to head against the LST w/the same shaft. I hit the PING Tour 65 w/the LST at PGA SS.

The G400 9* will be staying in the bag. Nothing comes close to it! The LST doesn't give me enough spin on miss hits. We adjusted the driver settings to the plus sign and it flattens the lie angle so I don't go as far left. The stock shaft works really well for me. The AD MT was slightly better, but is another $300 or so worth a couple yards? The Atmos Red was on another level altogether. Average 8 more mph ball speed and the dispersion was nonexistent.

New head cover coming Tuesday and I hope to get my 3 wood shaft by Wednesday!!
