**CAUTION NUDITY** Vokey has a moral compass apparently........

So i ordered two custom TVD SM5 wedges from wedgeworks with the full snow package ($60upgrade) and i choose my custom stampings, specs and i place my order. Just heard back from vokey and they are refusing to make me a wedge with the words "GETNAKED" stamped on it. I find this hilarious that they would have an issue with this. It is no way referring to actual nudity but more a saying that ive used since highschool while talking to a ball in flight or a chip/putt rolling out. It means simply to GO IN. Ive heard countless other guys use this phrase in my life on the golf course. Now perhaps im naive and it is just a midwest thing but i cant understand why they would refuse this order. I could just as easily get it stamped by anyone else and its still gonna be on "their" wedges.

 

I changed my stamping on that wedge to proceed with the order but i just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this.

 

and for those wondering why you would say get naked on a golf course here is the way it was explained to me when i was 14 and first heard the saying. "You cant get it in the hole if she still has her clothes on. "

You could always order without the stamping and have a local guy put it on there for you.

I laughed. I can see both sides of the coin as to why they wont do it/should allow it. But yeah, would probably just have someone else put it on but that is pretty funny. May have to start using that one and see what kind of looks I get.

LMAO, I too use this saying, and have for over 25+ years, though I was in my mid-20's(1984-85) when I first heard it used and it was explained to me while I was playing out west, lol.

companies have their rules, and not an 'explanation' section where you can plead your case. same reason you can't get 'hernandez' patriots jerseys, or 'ron mexico' falcons jerseys back in the day...rules are rules.

just find another place to get the stamp and move on.

I doubt it has anything to do with a "moral compass".

It's more likely an HR issue.

From an HR perspective, it would be *really* easy for a female employee to claim "hostile environment" and use stampings like that as *one* example. When it comes down to "proving" HR claims, it's less about proving the case and more about disproving it.

Thanks for the explanation, I have not heard that, perhaps I lead a sheltered life. As others have suggested, get someone else to stamp the wedge or do it yourself.
