not sure what you mean by "poor" but for 30 bucks it ought be better than poor, so my answer is no , before we even talk about Mr.cordial

Almost 2.00 a hole should be a lot bette than poor. I know a course here than is less than 15.00 and is a nicer condition than some costing 5 times that

Really, now. We need to know what your score was so that we can [s]laugh[/s] become indignant along with you.

Just kidding! Don't go back if you didn't like it. Would you stick your finger in a light socket twice?

The rude staffs and poor condition together made a stressful day. My score was 100ish. It was also the second time I ever played golf. I almost give up golf after this experience.

$30 is over $2/hole, unless you are only planning on playing 15 holes...
hmmm, I must be using the calculator that I keep with score with. Mine says 18 holes times 2 dollars is 36.00. I like your calculator better though.

Mine has an annoying voice feature and has informed me one dollar and 66 cents per hole playing 18 holes for thirty dollars. We need a rules official I think , gotta slow this round down.

It takes money to produce good conditions.

It takes money to hire people who care how they do their job.

In life there is good, fast, and cheap. You can have two out of three.

With respect to your score, unless the guy was being intentionally demeaning, then I would go with Lighten Up, Francis. Being able to laugh at our struggles makes golf much more enjoyable.

$30 is a cheap greensfee?

I must be really cheap then...
Nope, we just live in Ohio where golf courses are plentiful and cost of living is dirt cheap

I finely got tired of being treated poorly at Mather Golf Course in Rancho Cordova, CA. After sending the Dir. of Golf an email about my experiences his reply was that it didn't concern him enough to take any action.

Now I drive an extra 10 minutes and play Ancil Hoffman where the employees are friendlier and the golf course is better.

I'll never play Mather again.

A friend of mine owned a cabin up in the mountains. About a five hour drive, but once a year or so a group would visit the cabin, do the standard guy group stuff, steaks on a fire, a few drinks, the whole drill. We would drive a couple of hours over to a pretty nice course for our golf. Green fees and half a cart would be about seventy dollars. We did this several times, and every time we went, the staff acted as though we were an imposition. Buying a sleeve of balls seemed to be a task for them equivalent to remodeling the pro shop. The starter was rude, play was dead slow and the rough was worse than US Open rough, which mightily affected pace of play. We played on Saturday, so we expected it to be slow, accepted the rough, but the attitude was aggravating. My friend sold his cabin, so the trip moved and none of the groups ever went back to this facility.

$30 is pretty much super twilight in my area. Regardless, if I'm not enjoying myself, I'm not coming back. Especially if the cause is directly related to what I'm paying for (course, service, etc. as opposed to me just having a horrible swing day).

And not only will they lose my business, they'll potentially lose all my friends business as the word will travel fast.

good decision!! Life is too short to be treated poorly. We play golf to have fun.

Every community seems to have an old muni with a group of old cronies that treat the place like its their private, crappy country club. Outsiders are definitely made to feel unwelcome and the management refuses to do anything about it. In fact, management is usually a part of the "inner circle".

Funny thing is I had almost the exact thing happen to me (with the exception of having my scorecard laughed at) during a round at Myrtle this Spring. Played at a course called Thistle, which is billed as one of the hidden gems of Myrtle, and a club which literally has the fact that they "provide the best customer service on the Grand Strand" plastered all over their website. I played the evening for around $30. Long story short it was the worst CS experience i have ever had from the front desk all the way down to the starter. To make it worse the course was completely baked out. I ended up emailing the GM when I got home, and he invited me back as his personal guest when I go back in August. So i will be playing it again, only because its free though.
