purchased by accident. Bought it from the Bay really for the SFTP 2.0 LCG head, thought maybe ill separate and sell the shaft to a WRX member with 300mph of SS, its borderline a bit much for me, but get some really good results. Since moving to Texas I have struggled with the driver - has been a continual source of frustration for game.

After a several rounds and head to head comparison on some practice greens......The Ping Anser 303 SS is the winner of the starting position in the bag over the scotty Cameron Studio Stainless, be honest I really wanted the Scotty to win b.c. I absolutely love my leather Cameron head cover, but that head cover doesn't over come the pure roll of the anser head.

There is a lefty redwood on the bay now

I switched from a PP58 Midsized to a Iomic Mid - Really Really like the PP58 size is perfect, find it a bit soft, switched to a Iomic mid, *PLUS the Iomic is 75 grams vs the PP58 83 grams which really helps with the putter feel)

If someone where to like the PP58 size, i think an Iomic is close, but add 2-3 layers of tape and your there.

Thinking about building another driver as a back up to the SFTP 2.0 LCG, the matrix shaft which is in the SFTP wass a complete an accidental purchase. So I may work on building a club that i spec out. the SFTP works wonderfully, but maybe try a build with a more modern head to see if I could add in some additional forgiveness, with the weakness in my game being driving.

shaft this go around would be an ahina 80x, had an ahina a long time ago and loved it, some of my best driving was with that club so going back to the source.

Also the profile per this site, http://www.golfshaftreviews.info/index.php/category/categories/mitsubishi-rayon/ - has it close to the new Kuro Kage XT which I would like to try but, this shaft is a sub 100 dollar exploration

On to the head choice for this build: thinking Aeroburner (which to me is like a modern day SFTP) or a Callaway XR PRO this head really suprised my, or possibly a Great Big Berta, tested a few times, VERY VERY easy to hit.

What I like about all these heads, they are super light and can be hot melted where I want without having to have a 210g driver head.

Would love to hear any feedback on the 3 heads, esp. the Aero, i have not touched one that had something in it that was not 50 gram or more.

MP5's - Tested vs the MP4's quick trackman session

MP5 - Bottom line - MP4 feel and performance with some additional Forgiveness, we are not talking G25 type GI, but most likely the blade that's going to give you some relief on off center hits.

I love the PP58 grip but agree it's a little too soft. The only thing I didn't like about the Iomic was the sharp edges but I've never tried the midsize so maybe I'll give it a shot with 2-3 wraps like you suggest.

I created another post in the forum, because I want to see how this classic SFTP 2.0 LCG matches up to what I think is its modern equivenlent , the AEROBURNER TP

Just put together the Aero @ 45" with an Ion Ahina 80x tipped 3/4, though the Aero needs the hot melt treatment, 334g @ roughly d1.5 ~ d2 swing weight.[attachment=2935520:image.jpg]

Love the mp4s, though if the offsets are similar a combo of mp5/4s would be killer - reminds me of a tiger-isc mp14/29 combo

Was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the mp5 the addition of some slight forgiveness - though as you mentioned in your witb I'm curious to try the cb 716s

Have to give a hat tip to mizuno with the offering of mp4s and the option of heavier head (a&b) options put my swing wrights spot on

Got one round in with the Aeroburner TP, Hands down off the rack the R15 IMOP feels better the aero screams to be hotmelted

Couple of the back nine holes where into a 15-20 mph breeze - admittedly driving the golf ball is a weakness in my game, club head SS isnt the issue, just get crossways with the driver. Anyway.

Drove the ball OK, I think even on some not so good strikes got some decent results, and even into the wind which tells me that the spin isnt too bad with this particular set up.

Caught one clean, and it was ridiculously long, actually put me in a place on the course I didnt want to be.

Still need to test, Aero IMOP tough one to set up b.c. of the glued hosel, but again that glued hosel feel is what makes the club appealing.

One more thing I should add about the AERO TP Spin

Teeing it down, at least for me when hitting into the wind produced some serious stinger / flat bullets , which these shots had some seriously LOW spin based on the distance and run out

Like the "Silver bullet, only the head doesnt turn blue when cold

9.5 TP Aeroburner 45" MRC Ahina (1st gen) 80x tipped 3/4"

Took off the 5-6 grams of lead tape, added 5 -6 grams of Hot melt - now around ~340grams D4 ~ D4.5 SW the lead tape dulled the sound but the melt right center sole of the club gives it that "TOUR thwack"

Banged a couple of Trackman solid 2200 -2400 (if you attack it from the inside and really hit up it i got lower numbers but brings left into play for me) , mis hit around 3100 , launch around 10.8 - 12 , mishits around 14-15

Spin, i can spin it the same with proper technique as the SLDR though Id say its not as LOW LOW as the SLDR(in all fairness to the club design its not supposed to be), if you hit down on the ball the SLDR probably going ot spin lower for you.

BS ~ 165+, couple 168, about the same as my TOUR ISSUE SLDR or the New Great Big Bertha both; both those the clubs are good also, with some 170 BS numbers

Caught one statistical outlier for me, ball speed was rediculously high, though the ball mark was dead center so im going to say not impossible, just not normal performance for me. Though with the melt and heavier head, I was more toward the center of the driver. That shot was LA 8.5*(TOO LOW, im fighting low flight swing flaw) , 288 Carry, @ 2250 RPM
(im not WRX long)

Def more forgiving than the SLDR.

Verified on TM, tee'd low - balls are low spin knuckles that fly and run like crazy.

On a side note; 2 weeks ago I lost my good friend, someone I knew before I could drive (im 35) both of us loved the game dearly.

Golf to me just doesnt seem the same now, and I havent been able to hit the course since he passed. The Game has afforded so many fond memories with my friend, im still struggling with the fact that Ill never get to walk another fairway with him again.

For the last 3 years we have lived in different cities, and always said will catch up, will meet to play, will make a trip, and suddenly, will do, will do, isnt a possiblity.

Dont put off friends and family, that opporutnity may not be there tomorrow.

Superfast TP 2.0 LCG is a pain in the a** - cant seem to dislodge this club !

Just got a Tour Issue Aeroburner TP 9* Proto head , measured + COR @ 8.5*

Both heads are awesome, I think the delimiting factor now is the shaft. My disperioin across the club face is much better with the Matrix 8m3 XX (CPM 277 with grip) - WILL NOT GO LEFT - in the SFTP 2.0 vs the AB TP with the ahina 80x (CPM 267 w/ grip)

Driver has been a struggle for me the last couple years

Back to the SFTP 2.0 LCG has brought fairways hit, lower scores, fun off the tee, and renewed interest in bonded drivers

Also caused me to experiment with some stiffer options with the big stick, shaft having success with now is the matrix 8m3 xx cpm 277, and has given me better center contact and allowed my ss to creep up to 115-116

Had been testing a built of a tour issue abtp 9(8.5*) driver with an ahina 80x tipped 3/4" at 267, the SFTP LCG crushed it in consistency, so going to a speeder vc 8.1 x which is 287, might be a little too stiff for me but are going to try it and see if the stiffer shaft theory translates from the SFTP LCG to the abtp or the 8m3 profile just fits me better

Why not an 8m3 XX in the abtp 8.5 to test against the sftp 2.0 8.5 ? Secretly hoping you do this so I know which head to get. Lol ! The sftp 2.0 is the only true high launch low spin head I've ever hit. I need to go back to one.

The Pure Grip is growing on me, in addition putts very very well with it on there, why break up the band Also aren't the leather grips on the heavier side?

I have been looking for one of these for a long while, I do not see it moving anywhere other than in and out of the bag to the putting green
