So this delay in getting lefties out to us has me rethinking my order! I had the opportunity to pick up a set of TM MC's with Ctaper stiffs and I am almost certain I will never play another shaft.

So now it's down to this: VPC with 6.0 PXi's 4-P, Speed 3 iron with PXi or Same combo with Ctapers.

Todd my man- c tapers or c taper lite? Why so jacked on the c tapers? I'm on the fence about deviating from Kbs Tours which is why I ask. Love to get your thoughts.

I love the look of the irons. Compared to the MCs the VPC have a more boxier look but in terms of overall size pretty much the same. The VPC looks to have a slightly thicker topline but that could be because the MCs have a more rounded top. Either way after playing the MCs for a year it was very comfortable to switch to the VPC in terms of looking down at the clubs at address. I also love the look of the black with the volt swoosh.

I hit the MCs with the KBS very high. I probably lost one club length compared to the AP2 that I had previously but I really like how forgiving the MCs are. Especially off thin shots and shots off the heel. With the VPC I probably got one club length back and they seem as forgiving based on a few bad shots I had yesterday. On a 180 yard par 3, I thinned a 6 iron and I still got it there pin high. With the MCs I would normally go with a 5 iron. Anything in the 150-160 range I used to go with a 7 iron but with the VPC I was getting there comfortably with a 8 iron. The change from KBS to DGs probably have something to do with it but the VPC definitely have a more penetrating flight than the MCs (I also realized that I prefer the crisp feeling of the DGs over KBS). I was also very impressed with the turf interaction of the VPC. There was a shot on 17 that I hit a little chunky but the ball ended up on the green and the divot was very shallow. The VPCs seems to cut through the grass better but without digging.

I know its only been one round but I'm really happy and excited about the VPCs. I'll report back once I get a few more rounds/range time.

PS - I use a push cart so I don't get a lot of bag chatter but will keep everyone posted if the black PVD starts getting all beat up

[color=#222222]I now have 3 rounds and 2 range sessions with the VPC and I'm loving them more and more. Like I previously mentioned I gained a little bit of distance with the VPC but what I'm seeing in terms of mishits is what really excites me. My usual miss is low on the face or close to the heel. On the thin shots I'm still getting good distance and good dispersion (similar to the MCs). Its the miss close to the heel that I'm really seeing a vast improvement over the MCs. With the MCs the miss close to the heel would be a high, spinney, shot that keeps tailing off target and resulted in 1) being short of the green and/or 2) missing the green right by 10-20 yards. With the VPCs, the same miss still starts right but it doesn't keep on tailing off. So while I end up still right of target, I find myself a lot closer to the green (on a few I thought I missed the green and still ended up on the green).[/color]

I'll try not to make this long winded. Until the Ctaper Tour 120/MC combo my favorite set of irons was my MP-60 with Project X 5.5. Before the MC's I was playing Cobra S3 Pro's with S300's and they were much too light for my liking and I did not like the feedback on mishits. Got a great deal on the C Taper/MC's and I am just in love with them. Since the MP-60's I've become much better at golf and my swing and speed has improved so I'm planning to move up to the PXi 6.0. I sort of solidified that plan when I got the C Taper Tour Stiff's and realized that level of stiffness is where I need to be. My C Taper Tour's flight the ball very high and my distance is about 5 yards more compared to the S3 Pro's. Which is surprising considering the C Taper's are supposed to lower the flight. If I catch one on the toe of the MC's I still get pretty solid results and little to no hand sting, compared to the S300/S3 Pro's. I prefer to not feel any feedback when I hit the ball! Now, I take this with a grain of salt because I realize the S3 Pro's are much smaller than the MC's so that could very well play a big part in why I like the MC's so much. But I just feel overall the C Taper 120's are a much smoother, less feedback shaft than the PX 5.5 or S300's.

I figure if I'm going to drop a grand on a set of irons I might as well get them with the shafts I've always wanted while I have the chance. I also figure I'll go with the VPC's with PXi and can always go to the C-Tapers if I need to.

Yes. Will do. I am still waiting for my replacement set to show up. I initially got a set with preproduction PVD with only 1 coat. Although, I bummed to now be waiting, Nike customer service has been great.

I know I am impatient but Nike told me to pay extra for expedited build and shipping to make sure I had my irons this week. I ordered on Monday was told I would have them by Wednesday. Cool. Then I called Tuesday to make sure everything was good to go and they said it was. Check again on Wednesday when they dont show and was told the grips that I asked ot be shipped uninstalled were out of stock so they switched the grips and told me the 2 iron was on backordered but they will ship the 5-AW on Thursday to be here today. When FedEx came and left without my clubs I called again to get them for tomorrow. Apparently they didn't build them and won't until Monday! The same thing happened last year when I ordred my VRS forged irons. I know I should be patient and they are worth the wait but I can't believe that this is the second time in a row that has happened.

I, like many of us, hated the volt color and pvd combo when the vapor line was launched. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I was going to get it off and what color I would put in the swoosh. But now after my vapor pros came in and I've been looking at them everyday in my bag I'm starting to think they're perfect. It's strange how bad they look in pictures and then how awesome they look when you're holding them in your hand.

I agree with you. When I bought them I fully intended to change the swoosh to red, but after having them for a week or so, the Volt on black looks fantastic, not changing a thing.

Similar story with mine. They were supposed to ship. Then didn't because the grips were b/o. Changed those to the GP wrap that were in stock. They still didn't ship out. I had to call back. Finally, I talked to a guy yesterday that got it done. Shipped them overnight and they got here this morning.
