I've seen what Pure did which looks awesome but was wondering if anyone had just removed the volt swoosh and how it looked after doing so. Trying to decide if I'll acetone it off or just paint over it with silver.

I've done paint fill removal and changes before, just didn't know what was under the volt and if I removed it I could leave like that.

I think I recall Tai mentioning that he knew as soon as he saw the irons in person, paint-filling the swoosh would be a piece of cake. So I think you are in good shape! When are you doing it?

As soon as they show up! I got 8-pw pro's and 7-4 pro combos. I will definitely post photos once I do it. I'm also going to use 1 inch black ferrules with 2 chrome stripes. Black out multicompound grips and either KBS C Taper lite X flex or nippon ns pro 1150gh x flex.

They felt great! Didn't keep track of score, course was empty so I bounced from hole to hole.

Awesome feeling on well struck hits, but only reason I got Pro Combo in the long irons is because they really are forgiving.

LOL......kids these days. Anyways, the vapor pc's are the best looking irons Nike has produced so far. Expected them to feel clicky like Titleist forged irons, but was surprised they feel softer. Not a big fan of Nike clubs in general, but the vapor pc's get a thumb's up.

Painted right over it. I was going to take the PVD off and paint the swoosh, but I like the black/white contrast.

Believe it or not, I used appliance touch up paint. Got the idea from a friend who paints metal. Worked perfectly.

[color=#282828]Just finished playing 18 with the Vapor Pro Combos. Played at my home course so that I would have a gauge for distances, turf interaction, etc. This mini review is a direct comparison to my i20's shafted with Recoil Prototype F4 110. The VPC are shafted with Dynamic Gold Pro S300. I intend to put another set of Recoils in the VPC next week.[/color]

[b]Distance[/b][color=#282828] vs i20: Virtually identical. This was a concern for me as I briefly played the 2014 Pro Combos and found that they were almost a full club shorter than the i20. The VPC are essentially identical to the i20 in distance. They seem to launch ever-so-slightly lower and peak height is the same. Spin also seemed the same. [/color]

[b]Feel: [/b][color=#282828]Softer than the i20 (cast vs forged), although I've always been of the opinion that the i20's are quite soft feeling for a cast club. I believe the Recoil Prototypes contribute to the soft feel of my i20's. [/color]
[color=#282828]While the VPC feel soft and forged, I wouldn't say they feel mushy at all. In my opinion, 714 AP2's feel "mushy" as if the forged feel is manufactured rather that natural. The Vapors have a soft feel with a satisfying "click" that I love. [/color]

[b]Turf Interaction: [/b][color=#282828]Nice shallow divots from the fairway, the Vapors seem to resist digging (as do the i20's) but with a noticeably thinner sole compared to the i20. Where the Vapors excel over the i20's is shots from the rough. They definitely cut through the rough better resulting in high, soft shots with plenty of spin. [/color]

[b]Looks: [/b][color=#282828]They look very good in the bag! I know some don't think the "volt" color looks good but I love it. The finish is awesome and I haven't noticed any of the wear issue on the black PVD finish that some of the pre-release early models showed. Time will tell on that, though.[/color]

[b]Forgiveness: [/b][color=#282828]This surprised me a bit. I "toe'd" two shots pretty severely, the first being a 6 iron. I'd say the distance loss (10 yards) was comparable to the i20. Another toe's shot was with the 4 iron and it had no business finding the green but it did. Again, not better than the i20, but equal.[/color]


[color=#282828]Two adjustments I will make to the Vapors: The lie angles seem to be all over the board. WAAAAAYYY too upright on the A Wedge through 9, too flat on the 4 and 5 iron. Also, I'll be ditching the DG shafts for my beloved Recoils. The DG's are a fine shaft but I have elbow tendon issues and the Recoils are better for that condition. Also, I just prefer the feel of the recoils to any steel shaft.[/color]

Wow! Was all but committed to painting the swoosh on my VPCs silver/gray to match Tiger's prototype MM Proto blade until seeing this. Now I'm torn. Had to send my custom VPCs back to TGW because they failed to soft-step the KBS Tour shafts as I originally ordered. At least I have a week to 10 days to decide whether to stick with the silver/gray or go with the white as you've done here.

Just my two cents on the Covert Forged vs. The Vapor PC's. I found the PCs to be about 4-5 yards short on average than my Covert Forged. The PCs felt awesome, but at this point I'm sticking with the Covert Forged. Also, hit the Vapor Speeds and they were even longer than the Covert Forged. While longer, they didn't feel as good and I really don't like the look of them especially in the long irons, which are boxy and hybrid-ish looking.

Has anyone hit the VPC side by side with the AP2 yet? Or someone who has played AP2s have you boughten a set of VPC?

I had the AP2 714 for a little and did not care for them. The VPC seem like more solid of a hit and a touch more forgiving, especially on the toe. The launch is more boring with a little less spin for me.
