Finally got my set on Friday night and took them out to play 18 yesterday. I ordered 4-PW VPC with DG S300 and my previous set was the TM Tour Preferred CB/MC set with KBS Tours.

I love the look of the irons. Compared to the MCs the VPC have a more boxier look but in terms of overall size pretty much the same. The VPC looks to have a slightly thicker topline but that could be because the MCs have a more rounded top. Either way after playing the MCs for a year it was very comfortable to switch to the VPC in terms of looking down at the clubs at address. I also love the look of the black with the volt swoosh.

I hit the MCs with the KBS very high. I probably lost one club length compared to the AP2 that I had previously but I really like how forgiving the MCs are. Especially off thin shots and shots off the heel. With the VPC I probably got one club length back and they seem as forgiving based on a few bad shots I had yesterday. On a 180 yard par 3, I thinned a 6 iron and I still got it there pin high. With the MCs I would normally go with a 5 iron. Anything in the 150-160 range I used to go with a 7 iron but with the VPC I was getting there comfortably with a 8 iron. The change from KBS to DGs probably have something to do with it but the VPC definitely have a more penetrating flight than the MCs (I also realized that I prefer the crisp feeling of the DGs over KBS). I was also very impressed with the turf interaction of the VPC. There was a shot on 17 that I hit a little chunky but the ball ended up on the green and the divot was very shallow. The VPCs seems to cut through the grass better but without digging.

I know its only been one round but I'm really happy and excited about the VPCs. I'll report back once I get a few more rounds/range time.

PS - I use a push cart so I don't get a lot of bag chatter but will keep everyone posted if the black PVD starts getting all beat up

Lefty here. Ordered mine 10/1 at midnight while texting with my inside custom club guy at nike. Still waiting. Oh well at least they have lefty this year in the PC. Besides cold as hell here in PA.

Played 2 rounds w my vapor pros. Amazing clubs. My only fear is the pvd coming off haha. I'm using these club clips so they don't swing around. So far so good. Part of me wants them to rub and see if I have a bad batch or not.

Back before he switched to them for one tournament he was asked about them and he said there were still a couple tweaks he wanted to make to dial them in completely. They are probably making the necessary changes right now. He's had the vr pros for 2 years now so it's easy for him to go back while he's perfectly comfortable with the vapors. Not a big deal in my opinion

 

Better to tweak now and get set up perfect and in plenty of time for the masters

Anything to do with grips? I was told that my irons that were supposed to be here today haven't shipped yet because the Volt Velvet was now out of stock. I told them to ship them without grips or to put any no upcharge grip on them. Just get them out the door.

I had the same thing happen to me, my local shop upgraded the grips for at no cost to help get them here faster!

I just sent an email to confirm the grips being out of stock and asking to throw any grip on them to get them out on time. We shall see what happens. Got a lot of golf planned for the next 3 weeks and would be a nice break in period for them, but if they don't get here, it is a good thing I haven't sold my old ones yet.

I pre-ordered my Vapor pros the first week they were taking orders and now I just been notified that it's not going to ship till January. They said there was a shaft shortage. I ordered it with Modus 3. This really sucks.

I am glad that I read about the grips here. I ordered them loose in the box and with expedited build and ship so I can have them by tomorrow. I will check tomorrow morning that they got out. If they say it's the grips I'll ask them to ship those later and send the clubs now. Went pro combo 2,5-aw
