If the sims are aboutgolf and you are using a regular golf ball, not the one with the lines all over it, there is no spin on approach shots and they will not hold the greens. they work with the lined balls the best to register the spin more correctly.

the sims were AboutGolf ...and the spin was WAY off on chip shots. we had a 6' circle of 'gimmies' b/c of this issue.

Played third round with VPCs on Friday, the more I play with them, the more I like them. I was playing Scratch EZ-1's, which shot the ball to the moon even with the PX shafts (could have been due to a slight flip move that has been corrected through lessons). I didn't get along well with the DG S300 but these DG Pro are awesome, I am loving the ball flight with them.

Got to the range after work to work on some things. The thing I cant get over is how easy the long irons are to hit. The 3I hits mid flight lasers...audibly a bit more clacky than the pros and mid irons but, good lord does it feel pure. I will say im getting a higher ballflight than id prefer but, its still holding lines through wind. If it gets worse ill make mention of it.

If you like that pro combo 3 iron, you should see the speed 4 iron I got. I almost lost my mind on the first ball I hit with it. Piercing missIles is the best way I could describe it!

Jhonny Vegas' uses a retail model. I agree, head and sole does look very large.

JV's 3 iron must be different. From address you can absolutely see the back of the cavity bumped out the back of the club. Honestly, it looks like a hybrid driving iron.

I did not care for the speed long irons when I tried them, I have the 4 in the VPC, but I use a 712U for my 3 iron, so easy to hit and elevate. The 3 in the VPC was tough.

ADVICE SOUGHT/APPRECIATED

Hello everyone. I didn't feel like starting a new thread to complain, so I'm hiding my story here . Like many of you I ordered a set of VPC in November as part of a holiday promotion. I was advised to follow up on Dec. 16 for a shipping date. The expectation, therefore, was I would have my new set of irons in plenty of time to play during my two-week Christmas-New Year's break. Here is what's happened since then, and I'd like opinions from fellow WRX members.

1. On Dec. 16 I was told the shafts I ordered (PXi 5.5) weren't in but were expected that week, and to check back at the end of the week.
2. By Dec. 20, the shafts still weren't in.
3. On Dec. 27, the shafts still weren't in but the Christmas holiday certainly helps explain that.
4. On Jan. 6, Nike said the clubs were being built literally at that moment and would be shipped asap. By this time I've missed my window of holiday golf but not the end of the world, although a bit disappointing.
5. On. Jan. 11, Nike reported back that they had not shipped the clubs but offered no explanation.
6. Yesterday, the explanation was that some of the shafts had come in damaged and they had to re-order. The plan yesterday was that Nike will overnight the clubs that have been built and then overnight the remainders when the shafts come in and they're built.
7. [u]Edit to add[/u] Vendor was nice enough to call today and said the clubs will be built in the next day or two and overnighted to me. Puzzled as to why Nike would state on Jan. 6 that they were being built that same day, and then didn't acknowledge that they hadn't done anything until Jan. 11. And will [i]presumably [/i]start to build them on Jan. 14.

We'll have low-mid 50s temps in NC this weekend and I'm playing either Saturday or Sunday. Having ordered in late November, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect they'd be in the bag on Jan. 17.

The vendor (a GolfWRX sponsor) has been helpful and I know they too are frustrated. I may be banned from ever ordering again. This is the third time I have purchased golf equipment from them and each of the other two transactions went off without a hitch. They've earned credit as a reputable vendor. And now, opinions sought. Should I just keep my mouth shut? The vendor is pushing Nike to complete the transaction and make this right by closing the order, including overnight shipping. As the customer, is that enough? Has anyone been in this sort of position before? Is it fair to expect (even request) something to make up for the missed deadlines and what appear to be questionable excuses? Worst case I should have new irons in plenty of time for the prime spring and summer season and this will all be forgotten. But being in a business (business and consumer technology) that's also driven by customer experience I feel like Nike slipped a bit in this case.

Thanks for your thoughts and any similar experiences anyone can provide.

^^^ whereas Nike offers like every shaft imaginable, they don't carry a good portion of them on hand. they get the order and then order the shafts thru the vendor and once they get them, they do the build. That explains the initial wait, as I ordered my combo set with a particular shaft that is on their big list of shafts, but not regularly stocked. Mine took about 25-30 days total to receive. PXi is a great shaft, but not as common as it was when it first came out...hence needing to order it. It sucks some were 'damaged'...but sounds like they are doing the best they can.

If you have an option to express your disappointment to Nike directly, you can do so...but I wouldn't do it thru your vendor you are using with them.

Sucks, but sounds like plain bad luck. I'd request that Nike overnight them for sure, but it's hard to fault Nike and certainly impossible to blame the retailer.

The factory dg pro seem to launch and spin a little high for me. Part of this is the dummy swinging but I'm working on that. I asked how much for them to switch to the modus 120 and was told $80 per club. Looks like I will be doing this switch myself

Played 11 holes today with my new irons. The course was extremely wet and cold. Got absolutely no roll out on my drives. Despite all of the negative conditions, I was extremely pleased with the irons. The turf interaction was excellent (especially the pros). I am really, really happy with my purchase.

NOt sure if this has been touched on (haven't gone through the all the pages) but I saw a set of Speed irons without the black finish on the back. Just raw color with the swoosh in volt green. Whats weird but cool was that the shop had a second set with the black finish and both sets still had plastic on the heads.

^^^^^ To add to what I was saying. I really like the look of the "raw" finish on the back of the club.
This might sound weird but it seems to me that it makes the swoosh pop even more than the black finish..

The irons without the black are the Japan version, from what I've seen...

Nike Demo Day on the 29th at a club by me. I am going to check out the Speed 4 iron to "possibly" replace my 712u which has been hit or miss lately. Also excited to take some rips with the 3 new drivers, not that I am going to replace mine anytime soon.
