FWIW, I have the VFP 2-iron and it's fantastic. It launches much lower than my Vapor 5-wood, so it doesn't carry as far, but it's great off the tee. It's especially great in this part of the country when the summers dry out the clay and the ground gets fast and firm. I miss very few fairways with it. For me it's a great 235-245 club.

 

I'm out in Vegas, with the dried up fairways and wind I expect to use mine a lot.

 

Yep, should be great for you. Great desert golf driving club. Thing produces low bullet's for me.

 

What do you have yours shafted with?

 

Well, I originally ordered one with a Recoil 95x, but then Nike exited the club business and, after months of stringing me along, cancelled my order. I ended up buying one with a Steelfiber 110cw stiff from a member on here last fall. It's solid, but I've considered swapping out the shaft for something a little stiffer. Sometimes I feel like the shaft is a little too weak. I play mine for about 235 carry.

 

I've got a Ctaper in my 3iron along with entire set I get about 240 carry on the 3 so gonna have to test this 2 out it has a KBS Tour in it now but I assume it'll end up with a Ctaper as well

I have the Vapor Pro Combo 2 iron and I replaced my 5 wood with it. Absolutely solid and I can even hit it well enough off the fairway on par 5's. Flys about 230-240 for me.

 

I'm getting similar results with mine. In these Alabama summers, I'm getting 270ish off the tee (including roll)

how does that thing compare to an 18 degree driving iron or "utility" iron?

 

I'd put this right up there with the TM UDI. Easy to hit easy to work the ball left, right, high, and low. Just need to reshaft mine and it'll be a permanent gamer.

The shag bag looks awesome, it's a bit big and a little more than I want to spend. Ended up grabbing this Nike ball bag with heineken branding for 12 bucks on ebay. Ought to be more than good enough.

 

 

bummer, seller messaged me and said when they pulled this out to package it up that it was shedding some black material all over his hands so he didn't feel comfortable shipping it. nice of them to not ship me junk, but i was looking forward to this one! Ended up getting the Nike Sport 3 shoe tote for 11 bucks instead, should get the job done well enough for a little ball caddy.
