Oh, man! Brings back some fond memories. Too bad the interwebs didn't exist back then.

One of my best friend's (who doesn't play golf) father who was a golf nut......went to the same ophthalmology school in Detroit as Kris Tschetter's dad.

He even attended Kris's wedding.

At the 2003 CWO....I chatted with Kris about this....we spoke for 10 minutes....she was rearranging her bag and gave me two sleeves of Hogan Apex's.

I have Kris's book about Hogan...bought it for $5 at Golftown.....I've only read 5 pages....I've got to get at it.

Kris, Angela Jerman and Stephanie Louden....all lookers....were the face of LIZGOLF.....Liz Claiborne golf apparel in the early 2000's.

Kris nearly took down Annika at the 1995 USWO at Pine Needles.

Good morning gang! I decided to start off the day with the bagel sandwich then move onto Starbucks for some wrx catching up and the Sunday SD Union. Looks like Michelle's going off solo today. That splish splash at 18 cost her. What a day yesterday, stayed tell the bitter end with the 2nd to the last group of Danielle Kang, Jennifer Song and final group whom I can't remember. Should of kept my pairing sheet. Danielle's mom was saying something funny about what she'll put up with and what she won't from her LPGA daughter. She's funny and a looker.

Pretty much caught the entire round of Paula Creamer, Lexi Thompson and Michelle Wie. Way to go Paula! It's great seeing her play well and with elite players. Lexi goes left off the tee at 8 and as I'm watching her snap hook into the mess we hear a club bang the ground! hehehe.. Lexi! It's a wide fairway and she had to take a drop.

To end the day I hung around 18 to see the rest of the groups come through. They've got grand stands in the landing area at 18 which is a nice spot and a bartender! Hee Joo Kim birdied 8 after an 80 foot putt went about 95 and landed on the fringe. She comes back and buries the birdie putt. At 18 she sticks her approach the closes I saw and birdies that hole too.

MJ Hurr went over our heads in the grandstands at 18 and the ball landed behind the stands in bushes and she gets a free drop. Not a bad place to miss as long as you find your ball. Morgan came over and helped with a ruling. Some numb nuts that everyone was telling to not touch the ball, pulls it out of the bushes anyway.

Watched the second half of that Michigan State game then hit the hay. It's nice to come home from the tournament as see March Madness. Hey lets do it all again today. I think a player just walked in Starbucks. I think it's Belen. Can't be.

Ariya Jutanugarn is having a horror start this morning while Korda is on a four birdie streak....
Watching her before her shoulder injury, I thought she was going to be a force to reckon with. However, after watching her over a few holes live at last weeks Founders Cup, she needs to get herself together if she is going to win. She seemed to be pissed at her playing partners, herself, the crowd... She needs to mellow out as I believe all that frustration and negative energy will adversely affect her. She has game but maybe needs to learn patience!
Never knew she was pissed at her playing partners and the gallery....do tell...we need details....lol.
I could just tell the way she looked at a few of her fellow players, I think it was due to slow play, but the real issue was that she wasn't playing well IMO. She also, gave some looks at the gallery like we were bothering her or something. She just seemed irritated overall. I didn't get that sense from her sister. Moriya seemed happier about things.
Sorry Tesuque but I think I missed my opportunity to tell Belen hi from the guy in Phoenix in the photo and I could of complemented her on sticking it next to the pin at 4. They drove away in Kia. Belen is in the mix!

At the 4th, Ariya was in a golf cart yesterday afternoon with a rules official for a long time. He was talking and she was listening. I think maybe their conversation was about Ariya getting her head straight or it was about something that happened on the course yesterday.

Luv The Rocket!!

There's a picture of The Rocket and The Mini Rocket pool side...but I can't post it cause I'd surely be Jonesscott cell mate for a month.

They were wearing matching burlap sacks!

Will we get in trouble if we post the link? I would think that is okay as it is not displaying those dreadful sexist pics on the site.

I haven't seen either of these two. :(

I really like the layout of this course. Easily my favorite of the season so far.
I met a gentleman from Texas who's out all week for the Kia and I asked him what brought him to this tournament and he said "it's on his bucket list." Shocked that the Kia would make a bucket list but good for him because it's a great time out here.

I wonder who missed more putts in the Wie, Creamer and Thompson group. Paula is like the female version of Henrik Stenson. My wrists hurt watching Lexi with wedges.

In a bagel shop. Heading out to the course next.
C'mon man a true fanboy would grab some grub on the way or hit the buffet at the hotel and be on course early as not to miss any action. Better get it in gear BD!!!!!

BraveDave was the same way in Portland too...he never got his *ss to the course until noon.
Me....I was at the course each day at approx 8am and stayed at least until 7pm.
I just told BD to meet me at the beer concession stand at 230pm. :taunt:

Is Bully on a bag this week?
No bully sightings and I got to get to the course! Talked to Couger both days, he's at 18th scoring tent.

The face of the Kia Classic MW has to go round by herself tomorrow starting at 8.12am. ... anyone getting out early to keep her company.... I doubt this has happened to her before.
I should get out there. It's going to be weird seeing Michelle play without a crowd.

I like Lexi....

You sure don't ever have anything good to say about her.

He's Mr. Positive.

Especially for American golfers.

Yes....I'll admit I don't care much for the entitled, phony, diva pros who happen to be Yanks......The Pink One, Crusty, SNaP, MW, Xtina.

Again...if you read some older LPGA threads....you'll see how I enjoy the likes of many US gals....Gulbis, Lexi, Lang, Gerina, Paige, Alison Lee, Korda, Nicole Castrale, Sydnee Michaels, Ryann, Danah Bordner, Cheyenne, Mallory, Angela Jerman, Beth Bauer, Leta Lindley, Jackie Gallagher Smith, Vicki Goetz Ackerman, Kris Tschetter, etc, etc are some of my fav's.

C'mon PZ, cut Putt some slack.

It's not easy being Canadian.

So Michelle Wie, playing solo, took 3 hours to play 18 holes?

Greg Norman and Mark O'Meara are not impressed. They played the final round of the 1988 Tour Championship in 1 hour 24 minutes.

07199pm.png

1hour and 24 mins? They must've been on a cart. lol. I always thought that Wiesy wasn't the slowest nor the fastest player. Now if it was Aza it would've taken her like 5hrs.

Wie is flying. She's playing faster than I can walk. Waiting for her at 15. This course is a tough walk. I'm already exhausted.
According to the leaderboard she is 3 holes in front of the next group.
So the next group after MW (8:21am Alena Sharp, Haeji Kang) is just finishing on 18 now...impressive. I'm not buying into the MW sickness she appears to be lacking confidence to use her driver off the tee by using the 3 wood.
