Not sure if this is sarcasm but it's certainly way more convenient for me. Hell my clubs are currently in my office closet right now. I could walk up there after work. I'm pretty sure that when I did a fitting with Matt about 2 years ago, he mentioned that he lived on the Hill. It's probably more convenient for him as well. DC could use a fitting studio in town

Generally, that course is in front of you. Where it looks like there's trouble, there's trouble.

 

If you want to bang big dog all day, do it, but if you want to score, 3W and hybrid aren't going to kill you there when you're try to stay clear of trouble (like 2, 17, a couple of the par 4's on the back).

 

There are a lot of "pinches" there (2, 10, 14?, 17). Generally, keeping it short of the pinch is smart even if it leaves you more yardage in.

course was in great shape last week. cart is a must, course is virtually unwalkable. green-wise, long is wrong on #1, #3, #4, #7, #8, #10, #13-15, 17. greens will probably be slower and wetter as they will water them heavily to combat the heat.

Haha I was in the stall next to a lesson he was giving to two people a while back. It was not going well. Though that seemed as much the fault of the guy taking the lesson as anything else. I'm very curious what kind of experience Hoop had.

played rolling road today. interesting course. it's a 70.3/128 par 70. There are a bunch of birdie holes but the greens are very difficult and a lot of the shots around the green pretty much demanded a bump and run type shot. the guy i played with has been a member there 25 years and he said that they put a lot more water on it then they used to and it doesn't play the same. he didn't like watching balls be hit onto the green and stop. he said back in the day you had to play shots short and bounce them on. i went 37/38 for a satisfying 5 over 75. i made hit nice four foot par putts on the last two holes after weak lag putts. it was nice to finish the round out strong. hopefully my back can get a bit better and stay there. the time off is bad for my game and bad for my head.

Playing Pendleton today. Amped! Went to the range last night to pound balls and work up my body getting used to hitting lots of shots for consecutive days so I'll be ready for the beach. I tried to put into use what I saw on the video I posted here yesterday but it totally tucked everything up. Going back to what I had been doing before which seemed to be working just fine.
