Had my lesson his afternoon. I was getting way too steep. My backswing sill had the club head inside the hands and was putting me in a non optimal position at the top. We worked on a feel for getting the club outside the hands on the takeaway. Like my hands are working more around my lower body, close to my right thigh and the club head way outside the hands. From there I just swing down like normal. Coming into the ball shallow and my draws are back! It's weird as hell and sometimes I have a thin miss but overall I'm so happy I had the lesson. Hopefully I can put some good rounds up applying this.

 

Scheduling another lesson soon for putting. We're gonna get on the SAM putt lab. Also found out she has trackman and gonna see if we can get that out in the future.

Couple of things

HIO,s never had one for the first 33 years. Started playing in 1957 on a course after 2 years of practice. First HIO happened in 1990 at Mt. Pleasant #6. From 1990 to 2002 there were 6 more. Had one more between 2002 and 2016 an don't remember the year. The best one and last one was last year because my wife and daughter were there to see it. The daughter said " That's what your suppose to do, your a good golfer" and acted like it happens everyday. Wife was excited though. At least I did it in front of two of the most important people in my life.

 

Witnessed two HIO's by my Dad who acted like it was no big deal. Just smiled and went about the rest of the round.

 

Witnessed my youngest son doing it at Geneva Farms #9 with all his friends watching. Very excited about that.

Just listened to the NLU podcast from yesterday, over an hour on their trip to Royal Portrush, Royal County Down and Portstewart. God it sounds freaking amazing.

I haven't listened, but I've got some sort of 10-year plan to get to Ireland or Scotland and run through some of the classics. Going to need to start getting some of you donks to start stashing benjo's for a 2024 trip or something. Start working on the wife now. Ballpark estimate gonna need 8-10 days and 4-6K.
