I know very little about any courses in Europe. I know St. Andrews is St. Andrews, and that it has the road hole where you hit it over the house, and I know that 18 has the bridge, but I have no idea about anything else on that course. And it's the scottish course I know the most about.

If I never made the trip over there to play golf, I'd be fine with that. I'd go, but it's not a trip I would organize. I'd tag along.

Looked up Kingsbarns. Wow.

I don't know too many Euro courses, so I'd probably go with St. Andrews just because St. Andrews

i know everyone wants to the play the hit list of top courses. so do i. bucket-list and all that. but i'd love to go and have an even split between "must plays" and "just founds." i bet there's a ton of gunpowder-esque courses over there that no one writes about that are just amazing places to be, not just for the golf.

No golf for me this weekend. I hardly ever play on weekends anyway, but our church works with Rebuilding Montgomery (Habitat for Humanity) on a house in Montgomery County and the workday is tomorrow. However, the guy who runs it always picks a house that needs more work than can be done in a day, so some of us work on it on Sunday as well.

Heading up to NJ this weekend for some family time. Gonna get a round in with a buddy at Fox Hollow in Quakertown, PA. Neither of us have played it, but it's cheap and about half way between us, so it'll work.

I'm with you on this. Read an article about East Lothian in Golf Digest ages ago. Essentially, can go to an area like that and just spend the entire trip there. Instead of playing 36 and then racing to the next stop on the greatest hits tour, you can enjoy the town and hit some lesser known, but still awesome links. Seems like that might be more enjoyable. Can do that in other areas as well - Aberdeen, Preswick. Different way to do the trip and something to consider.

Gotta be fewer holes-in-one too. Kingsbarn looked like you'd be in for half a hole-in-one a round with the caddie.

Yeah - and if you do East Lothian, you can make over to St. Andrews for a day as well to get the Old Course in. Just seems like it might be a better trip at the end of the day. Less travel, more beer, more time to get a true sense of a specific place/town.

tee times/format emailed out for sunday's golf mixer at compass pointe. see you dingii then.

What tees will we be playing in the Capitol Cup? White? Blue? A mix?

OCGolfRick, CityGame, DT15, CDMackFisher in the first group off.

That's what you call having pull with the organizers.

Hive Tour Titles: 0
Capitol Cup Singles Record: Undefeated.
Suck it, Ceejay.

it's a good question. i think you should tee off from both boxes and play each ball out and then tell me which one worked worst for you.

only then will a tee box determination be made.

in actuality: white.
