Being that they are 8620 steel in the casting, I don't think there will be a ton of difference overall...maybe a bit around the greens but I don't think it will so much most will care.
8620 vs the 1020 the Tour Grinds were. Should be firmer but more durable. Forged snobs will care (including myself but won't deter me from purchase). Most won't notice a difference.
Don't get me wrong, I played the 1018 Scratch for awhile and they were amazingly soft...but I also played the TM Rac TP wedges for years and they felt great too!!

They look nice, but I just scored a set of MD2TG's on the cheap.

The forged snob in me just can't convert.

LOVE that Callaway is offering DG Tour issue and Tour Issue Onyx along with the KBS 610 and HiRev 2.0 wedge shafts on these. Should make people pretty happy!

The DG TI definitely had an upcharge. Not sure about KBS

Hit these today and love them in the S grind. Didn't care for the W or C grinds, they were clunky. Wedges are definitely a firm material, not as soft as others. The S grind is pretty square from setup, which was my concern with the round leading edge on the MDs (non-tour grind) as well as the descriptor for these.

After looking at the demos at the local Golfsmith, the top line on the higher lofts look too rounded to me. More like the Mizuno R line but there was only one to look at, and I normally play a 58. I will take a look when they arrive. Actually maybe a little more interested to look at the new blue Mizunos.

"The MD3 wedges also have a different head profile, using what Cleveland calls the best of Callaway’s previous X-Tour and Tour Grind wedge lines. The profiles have a higher toe shape and a straighter leading edge, a look that golfers enjoy based on player-feedback."

Ordered mine today! I got the 52 S grind and 56 C grind both in satin chrome. Should have them around Sep 7. Super excited and Im hopeful that these new grooves don't tear up my golf balls like my original MDs. Anyone that has hit them know how nice or not they are to a ball?

I hit the 56 C grind today in satin chrome and was impressed with the feel and spin control. They are slightly softer than Vokey's and the etched face has some good roughness. I was using a Pro V1x and it did not chew up the ball even on full shots from the fairway. I compared it to my Vokey M grind and I thought the heel and toe relief was slightly less but you are still able to open it up and the leading edge stays nice and flush with the turf. Overall, nice job by Roger Cleveland and Callaway!

I saw these in person today and they look incredible, especially at address. There is a SLIGHT increase in radius to the leading edge vs. the Tour Grind heads but nothing that would be offensive unless you absolutely require a dead straight leading edge - they remind me a lot of a more refined X-Forged wedge shape.

The W-grind reminds me a lot of the original Cleveland Reg TA 588 especially in the 60. I am going to pick up W, S, and C just to fool around with the various grinds. The face mllling is incredible as well, looks very high end.

Overall, great introduction and looking forward to trying them soon once my order is in.

Looks good...but that rounded edge seems awfully rounded, at least to me, in the pictures. Maybe it's mind games. Not sure how much I fan I would be of that in actual play.
It's not at all. There is a slight radius. I am someone who prefers a straighter leading edge, but not dead straight, and I can easily do these for sure.

Has anyone been able to verify that the face is milled? It looks to be some type of etching to me, but I do not know all of the various manufacturing processes. If they are not milled, then what exactly is milled to use that in the name? The grooves maybe? I am just not sure and would like to know.

I went to the Callaway website and it is the grooves that are milled, not the face. The etch marks are a different process and look completely different than a fully milled face. The etch marks do add roughness and the feel of these are excellent.

Whether it's a CNC or a laser that does the milling on the face doesn't really matter in the end because the size and depth are regulated by the USGA. The grooves being milled are the important part as they will have a much greater impact on spin and the milling allows for a more precise radius than casting. But again, it's all regulated in the end. Still can't wait to try these. I love the lime green and matte black combo.

The chain link fence pattern on the Md2 is gone. These look like milling marks to me. According to Golfweek:

"Callaway also gave the MD3 wedges an updated face-roughening treatment created by a laser."

I just won 3 MD2 Tour Grind wedges at Member Guest. Should I play them or trade them in for the new MD3? I am currently playing Miura wedges so my gut thinks the Tour Grind wedges will be better in terms of feel?
