Talked to Nike couple times before the Origin release today to double check the LH would be released as well. Woke up early in the morning to order online and to my disappointment and slight depression, only available in RH. Called one of the reps after and he told me there is some manufacturing issue or something and that the LH won't be released until May 23.... I had my weekend and next week planned filled with golf but now it is officially ruined.... :cry: *sigh*

did see on golfsmiths website that the b2-01 is available in 33,34,35 lengths. not sure if thats for immediate purchase or what. was going to head to my local one some time this week. also has it listed for only 299$

 

Don't give up, they're out there in the wild right now. I tested one out at my local golf shop today.

rors isn't for everyone, longer the shaft heavier weights the weights it comes with. I know when I cut my 006 and rm it made it lil lighter but it doesn't bother me at all

Is anyone not liking the Origin? Or am I in the minority? I have to be honest, I did not like it that much. With that being said, I was only putting at a PGASS for about 30 min and they only had 35" putters (my putter is 32") so I am sure that had something to do with it. The ball comes on the face hot and miss hits are pure. I brought a ball in with a line drawn all the way around to see how it reacted and it was great. The performance is there, what the putter is lacking is the feel. Maybe it is just me, but I much prefer the feel of my Betti and my scotty. To be honest, I even prefer the feel of the Method Matter. I was actually pretty shocked about this. I really really really wanted to like this putter better than my gamer that Ive stuck with for the last few years but something was off.

 

With all that being said, I don't think it was a fair test. I want to get it outside and I want the 33" one. Hopefully I can track one down this weekend.

In my experience, the grip and the shaft have huge impacts on feel. For whatever reason, putters with the firmer step-less shafts tend to feel firmer and deader to me. If the origin is just ok for me, I've got a True Temper YSC putter shaft (what used to be OEM for the scottys), ready to go. Same with the super stroke grips, awesome grips but (for me) they are too soft and I lose distance control. The firmer grips seem to convey better feedback.

I'm not fan of the stepless shaft either. I have a custom Scotty and live the shaft in it. Believe it's the True Temper YSC putter shaft. Anyone know tip size for the origin putter? Want to get the correct shaft. Thanks!!

Didn't even think about this....If/when I get one, I will reshaft it to test this out. Plus I would throw on a pingman and be done with it. Didnt love the stock grip. Now the RORS grip, thats a different story

I cut mine down couple inches and it has done me jus fine. it is a lot softer feel so that's why you might not be getting that feel. if you want a 33 then cut it down. jus because Rory uses it didn't mean it's going to work for you. everyone has there own taste on things. if your wanting a more firm feel off the face then try the 006. to me that putter feels lot more firm then the rm. I can putt jus fine with it but I do work a lot on my putting everyday. I had to get used to how much more ball speed it has. fast greens I wouldn't putt the RM like you would the putter you have been using because you will blow past the hole. I feel long putts this putter will get it done easy. but like I said before it might not be for you or others. I knew I would like it because at address looks jus like my 006 and I wanted more roll and softer face and I got one now.

Thanks for the advice/opinion. I think you hit it on the head though. It might not be for me. Funny though, I don't feel as if the RM is soft. I would consider it firmer. Maybe I am wrong here. To me, my betti studio stock is soft, as well as the Method Matter. Then I would classify my scotty studio stainless in the medium category and something like a ping would be firm. I think the RM falls in the middle, just a tad firmer than my scotty. Again, this was with only a brief test but it was my initial observation. I do agree with the Origin being softer than the Method, Ive only played with the 001, not the Rory 006.

 

Who knows. One thing I do know is that I am still going to buy it, just because. I throw it in the bag for a couple of rounds and if I am putting as good or better, itll obviously stay in!!

In non-Rory Origin topics, I have to say I finally put the new Tour Classic glove into play and I'm a big fan. I ended up buying them off NDC because I couldn't find them anywhere around me. They seem to be much more durable than either the previous Tour Classic or the Dri-Fit Tour. It's certainly a different feel, that took some getting used to, but it's a really great glove. Definitely worth the money.

my non RORS b2-01 is ofd today. They shipped it FedEx. Good thing I have it coming to my work, saves me time from going to he FedEx store to pickup my package because they require a signature. UPS dropped my 006 at the front door last year no signature required. I don't get it!

In my mind I see a nice mid penetrating ball flight with a slight draw that I can play for some roll out or a nice high cut that I can stop on those pesky par 5's. In reality....I hope I can elevate the damn thing consistently enough and not look like that jackass swinging out of his shoes attempting the "stinger" we all would love to hit.

 

And the wait was painful, only one email from global golf stating the shaft was special order and 2-3 weeks to get the shaft. Followed by radio silence until fedex dropped it off today. My order still says processing.

Makes sense. I wanted mine at 19* to see if it could knock my Anser 20* hybrid out of the bag. Yes, I have a few non Nike clubs in my bag.. It's ok. I've been seeing a counselor.

Received my Origin B1-01 tonight. 34 inch right hand. I have used the method midnight 006 for the past 3 years with a hiatus using the method core 01w. My midnight has been tweaked to have 4 wraps of tape to build up the hands and it also has 4 strips of lead tape. I decided to leave the Origin stock to see how it compared.

 

The grip on the Origin is great. It's a little thicker than my Midnight with 4 wraps. It feels fuller too but not a good way. I've used super stroke 2.0 before but never fell in love. No feel and very slippery. The grip on the Origin is perfect for me.

 

The looks are amazing. I'm so happy I went with the 01 vs the 02. I've always liked the look of Tigers putter but hated the dot and the feel. This putter has a nice weight to it (even coming from me who was using 4 strips of lead tape) and an even better look. It's very pleasing and better than I anticipated.

 

The feel is great. You can tell right away the difference between the midnight and with the origin. Mishits feel better and the ball rolls out a foot or so more. I'm real excited to do some more testing and play this weekend. Overall very happy!

 

Anyone want to buy a great condition midnight 006 send me a dm!

I also don't understand why they are doing the signature required on the FedEx shipments. I understand they want to make sure it is delivered, but I have had many other clubs delivered and never not received one. I have had multiple clubs delivered this year front Nike and had issues getting all of them. One of them even showed up after a second delivery attempt and the box was damaged and the shaft broke in half. Also I guess I have been spoiled by other manufacturers on custom orders with the clubs sealed up in bags and the clubs in nice condition when I get them, but with these clubs it is like they just put the club in a box and ship it because one of the other clubs had scratches on the shaft and head.

Got my VFP 3i today by surprise! Recoil 110g X 1* flat. Took roughly 2 weeks from the time I ordered through DD to delivery. I'll post up some pics once I throw the grip on tomorrow.

ES = Employee Store. They weren't expecting them. Think they got 10 total. $340 price

 

I know it was the employee store. Just shocked they already had them like days after release. I've never been but I assume things take a couple weeks to show up there.
