Small update....near scratch golfer....but a couple of longtime good golfing friends have commented how well both my M1 driver and 3-metal are working.....almost 2 months and 20+ rounds..

The most impressive thing to me is the consistent "window" I hit them.....regardless of wind conditions. ....and the wind blows here in South Florida. ......but first time in a long time I see the ball with hangtime but penetrating flight.

Everything is OEM shafts. No made for or TM painted shafts.

That shouldn't surprise you, TM drivers for the last few years had a lot more ball speed that Titleist drivers. Thats just pure fact.

I definitely agree. I only played Titleist because it matched the rest of my bag haha never really considered switching until I heard so much about the M1 and I feel like I've been missing out for years now...

1) Does TM plan on making a Tour Preffered version?
2) Anyone have face angle specs on the standard?

What would be the point of TP? It already is TP with all the shaft options. That's the only difference

It's quite rare to see anyone post the face angle specs on a retail head.....I have not seen one for the M1 retail heads.

Everyone's eye is different, but for me square to maybe a tad open in the N position.

This is one of the best statements I've seen on here, face angle is so subjective.

Actual face angle is far from subjective; it's a measurable angle like loft and lie. How the eye perceives it is subjective however. Tour heads are always measured so a player can choose based on his desired specs instead of eyeballing it.

To answer the question, I think one of the nice things about the M1is the design of the crown which IMO gives the appearance of a slightly open face angle.

Correct. 44.5 end of adapter to end of grip. 43.75in if cut before installing into adapter.

I've hit my M1's with a few 60-70 gram shafts whilst practising & didn't like them at all even though they have been shafts I've used successfully in other heads but last Saturday I used a Fujikura Pro 63 stiff in my 430 & apart from a couple of crappy blocks to the right, it was damn good. I hit some balls that were quite long but places I've been before with other combos but I love the launch window, flight, feel & sound I get with the M1.
I also gave the 430 a tickle with a Matrix 7M3 last Friday arvo & it nearly got the start over the Fuji it was that good. I've always thought the 7M3 is a great shaft that holds up well when you want to give it a big nudge. I was getting an above mid ballflight that was just so pretty to look at with muck all spin that released plenty upon landing.
I still believe this is TM's best driver to date, 2nd place goes to the SLDR & 3rd goes to the 07 TP Burner

Has anyone replaced the front 15g stock weight with two 9g weights and split them apart like the R15 MAX Forgiveness setting?

I'm curious how much more stable the head is and the affect on spin numbers.. If it's a tradeoff of spin vs. stability(forgiveness)?

Lol. Yea. Put some impact tape on the crown and hit a few balls and let us know how the pattern looks. Wtf. If I high ball caused that it was a high one off the face that's pushed the face in some causing the crack where the face cup and crown meet.
