Just received my T-MB's Saturday with AMT S300's. It took about 4 weeks to receive the order. I am coming from AP2 712's with Recoil Prot0 110 F4's. My trackman fitting pointed to the AMT's, but I am still a little nervous about the shaft change. The heads are stunning. The scoring irons really look nice. I could not resist hitting a couple of dozen balls Monday (25 mph wind / 40 degrees). My hands were frozen, but i was pleasantly surprised with the 6 iron i was hitting. Upper 50's are predicted Thursday - i might be able to squeeze one final round before the end of the year.

Why did you switch out the Recoil Protos? And did you have them installed in the AP2s by a third party? I thought the 714s were the first line that they offered them as an upgrade.

Trackman was showing better numbers with the AMT's on the longer irons (higher launching, better spin numbers, a little longer). The Recoils in my AP2's were installed by UST directly. I worked with their primary tour rep at the time. Got really lucky and had them installed way before they were offered for retail purchase (still during tour only testing).

Played my first 9 holes today with the new T-MB's (55 Degrees / about 10 Mph wind). They did not disappoint. PW is about 7 yards longer than my 712 AP2's. I need new wedges anyway, but going to need to properly gap the scoring irons in the Spring. Long irons are about 8 to 10 yards longer. Knock down is very easy - hit a bullet punch 4 iron under a tree almost as far as a normal swing. Normal swing is slightly higher trajectory than my AP2's / seems softer landings coming into the green. Only disappointment is Winter in the Mid West - might not be able to play again until April.

Lots of love for the new Titleist line not a whole lot of mention for the CB which to me are the star of the line they finally made the improvements needed with the stronger lofts these are the ones. Weird to say but the ap2 are the back seat this year in my opinion. Also wanted to add I hit some srixons today and I disagree on the distance post some stated in a previous post the CB are playing long for a player club easy as hell to hit, glad to see Titleist back on the map great offerings in 2016.

I got my set yesterday (4 & 5 T-MB, 6-PW CB) and played a round right away. I couldn't be happier. The T-MB are super easy to launch and the new CB feel great. And they combo nicely together

Cannot wait to get my hands on my AP2 716's. I've been playing 710 CBs for a couple years and find them to just not be forgiving enough.

So I hit the T-MB 4-iron and the 716 AP2 today. Both with DG S300. The T-MB felt great and was surprisingly forgiving. The AP2's were freaky forgiving for me!!! Great feel, launch, etc. It is smaller than the 714, but I'd take the 716 hands down for my swing...and all of its flaws!

So, for those of you who have hit both the T-MB and the 716 AP2 think that the T-MB is REALLY more forgiving?

Yes but what do you mean by more forgiving. I found that tmbs distance forgiveness wise are one of the most forgiving clubs for their looks.

I've been playing Titleist ZB (3-5 CB, 6-7 progressive CB, 8-PW MB) for 8 years, and I'm looking for something more forgiving in the long irons (I've hit the T-MB and love them) but want to ensure the distance gaping isn't out of wack. So I'm leaning towards 3-5 T-MB, 6-PW AP2. Anyone gaming this combo?

Wouldn't bother with a combo set. Just go T-MB throughout. The only reason I could see to do a combo set with cavity backs in the short irons, would be if you wanted to bend the shorter irons in some way that couldn't be accomplished with the T-MBs. I have played combo sets for years and frankly the T-MBs deliver on all fronts better than any of the combo sets I have played (both made as such Flow sets like the Cobra's or mix and match like the Mizuno or Titleist CB/MB sets)....

I could see somebody wanting to go T-MB and MB in a combo set if the T-MBs hit it too high in the short irons for them...........

The BIG thing for me was the forgiveness on shots struck high in the face. Usually cavity back players clubs have pretty good forgiveness for shots hit in the toe/heel/low but not if hit high in the face. The T-MBs don't have the same issue and the forgiveness seems to be equally great across the whole face.....

i have been talking about the t-mb every since my extensive demo about 3 weeks ago. my t-mb came in 4 days ago, and final got a chance for 36 holes today, where i hit the t-mb vs the ap2 716. The t-mb is better then i originally thought, they feel great, are very forgiving, and go higher and longer then the ap2. It beat the ap2 in every category. i was impressed with the demo, but after 36 holes they are really that good.

I've decided I'm getting a set, but I'm trying to resist the urge to order of T-MB's without trying them first. I think I better test them if only to get the correct shaft. I know that I am stock loft, length, and lie, but I'm between the Modus 120 S, the stock S300 AMT, or even the AMT S400 TI soft-stepped or something.
