PX definitely hit flatter with less spin. I've played both extensively.

Have to agree with many on here, x7's are great, reminds me of a X1 but more refined , and with slightly better numbers. They really shine in the short irons with spin and flight

Like Jack Daniels vs Jack Daniels Single Barrel, single barrel little smoother and stronger.

Just to give some reference, I owned c taper X and px 7.0, like the c taper but never got along with the px

Man. You too ? I really just don't get how guys like Phil on tour play these ? Even if they checked lofts every round and had a backup available this would eat at my mind.

Edit- I've played and bent my own 130x tour set. So I know what I'm talking about

Now I live in west Texas, ground is hard as s*** out here, could be part of the problem

On the tour side, maybe the QC the walls better on sets going to the big boys? Only greater wall thickness get out on the trailers? We had to know kbs wall thickness tolerances to begin to assess

Never had bends with my good ole x1s though , really liked the c taper but worried it would happen again

Nice write up. Interesting results from the head to head 6 irons. Not surprising though as I was almost certain you would really like the X7, they beat the CTX for me in every way. Give the long irons some time, I was more impressed with the short irons at first also.

Although, the biggest takeaway is that being big on JD I should probably try the single barrel. :drinks:

I couldn't disagree more. Played both myself. True Temper also states that the X7 is the lowest launching and spinning shaft they make. Just goes to show you how differently people's swings react to different equipment. Just hit everything you can and find what works for your swing.

Driverwedge......Very true. Not sure how you hit the ball but it's possible we strike differently? I tend to go through the ball somewhat hard and take a slightly larger divot than most good players. The PX gives me a very explosive almost catepult type feel. This leads to high shots but very flat apex flight. The X7 will tend to float on me a bit on windier days. The spin rate is an iron off between the shafts for me.

MG- You... bastxxx. I guess the truth hurts a bit. :vava: I guess I can only hit YOUR irons a respectable distance.

Chi- I'm more of a sweeper with irons and tend to hit them relatively long. Not much of a divot. If there is, it's not very deep. I don't mind the performance of PX, but like MG and Blade, I much prefer the Satin due to the feel. I really don't like the PX feel or weight. I like me some beef. If I could find an X7 driver shaft, I'd use it in a heartbeat.

They are a very good shaft for you. I really like the feel, but the LA is a bit too low for me. :-)

I'm happy it helped. They are both solid shafts that will stand up to you stepping on the gas hard if needed. I just find the X7 is a bit higher spin when you really go down through it. For reference my driver SS is in around 117. 5 iron swing speed is 99mph.

I know he came from PX satin .. which I find to be quite smooth. compared to regular PX(..i know I know they are the "same")...

I've never thought them to be the same, apart from ballflight. They feel noticeably better to me, and I am a frequent flyer with PX.

I don't think Phil get's paid to play KBS.....none of the players that play KBS do.....I could be wrong....I think Phil is playing the TOUR V model not C-Taper..... and a question for mad.....were you that guy in high school that would start a fight and walk away and let your friends do your fighting? you are a tremendous pot stirrer.....guys like you make me laugh on the internet.....and I'm just as guilty now by stirring with you....oh well...and blade didnt KBS do right and replace your set? They seem to try and make things right.....I like both manufacturers......both make great products......
