It was nice here again today. I did not get out to play though. We got out early and ate breakfast then went to vote. My bud called and said a guy was interested in the Rat Rod Benz. I told him to sell it then. I went up there and collected my money and took the tag to DMV and cancelled insurance. By the time I got done the wind was blowing and a cool front had moved in decided to stay home and rest. We have a 9 and dine scheduled for tomorrow at 2:30 if we have enough folks to play it. Next 2 days after that looks like rain with the storm west of us. Will probably dump a bunch of rain so I figure the shootout if they play it will be CPO if so I am out.

Touch I see you are playing at 5400 at elevation so you guys should be ok on my course from the green tees 5140 at sea level. Now I do have a couple of fun golf things planned when you guys get down here. I am going to let you guys play our 15th hole which is a par 3 from the blue tees---- with a persimmon driver to boot--- But in my vintage world it will be a Par 4. Depending on the wind we may try #3 which is a par 3 from the back with the lumber and it will also be a Par 4. People ask all the time if I get bored playing there every day. Nope because I can trick up the course from the different tees and playing different clubs it is never boring for me

That's a '71 Dodge Challenger RT.  Based on the grille design.  Could be a Hemi, or 440 "six pack".  Thought the 440's had dual hood scoops like this one.  While the Hemi's had the "shaker" scoop on top of the carburation, through a hood opening.  Not to nitpick.  But calling it as I see it.  Might be a resto mod also, as it has non-stock wheels and appears to be lowered.  Modding an authenticated original wouldn't be a wise thing to do.  

 

Nice whip and scenery nevertheless.

Dodge didn't make a R/T option in a convertible in 71. That car probably had a 340 in it. Regardless, I wouldn't kick it out of my garage. Beautiful car!

Buddy of mine had a '68 Coronet RT w/440-6 pack and it had the shaker hood that was pinned on.  Can't comment on a '71 Cuda cause I just don't know.

Perusing the instruction forum this morning has rekindled a thought that doesn’t get spoken around here. I ain’t gonna say it there, but:

 

Some people just can’t play golf, regardless of how athletic and blah, blah, blah they think they are.

 

Some people can’t pole vault very well. Some people can’t sing very well. Some people can’t dance very well. Some people can’t even eat without dropping catsup on their shirt.

 

And everyone thinks that they’re an above-average driver.

 

It’s just math. Have a good Wednesday.

Hey, I'm an above-average driver... for my low IQ group.

 

The point being, you can always be a long driver of that little white sphere, if you conveniently fit yourself into a particular unspoken demographic.  Such as 1) When my drive is downwind, 2) When my drive is downhill, on firm ground, 3) When I only count the ones that don't go two fairways to the right, 4) When I only count my single best drive of the month, 5) When I'm on a specific PED, 6) When it serves my purpose to stretch the truth a bit, 7) When I'm not using a launch monitor and guestimating.  Etc., etc., etc.

 If you begin golf later in life and you have little general athletic experience you probably do not have a prayer. That person will not be in touch with how their body works
