@Hickory4ever thanks. A quick google search brought up some original gutta balls on eBay 💰 💵 💰 💵  which triggered my question. Neat that reproduction balls are being made so you don’t have to play a $500+ 😳 ball over 100 years old!

I will stick with my Q Star Tour Divides. Distinctive ball 🙂

I have found and hit a couple of those Divide balls. As far as hitting goes they hit as well as any Srixon. Putting they mess with my eyes rolling. Of course I have the disassociating eye thing going too which may be part of it. I gave the 2 I found to my wife and she uses them on the little Par3 course. I try not to look at them when she putts. She has played them several rounds now. It is hard to lose a ball on that course

I like them because they remind me of the long-forgotten Ping balls and my fidelity to Ping is on the record here. 🙂 I go back and forth about using them during play because when putting, I have to line the ball up the same as the line around the ball drill on the practice green. I’m not as exacting doing this on-course because it is tedious and I am pretty quick on the greens.

I like a ball that spins a lot and feels moderately soft. These feel good and spin barely enough so they are pretty good.

Thank you that is exactly what one of the balls was that my instructor bud found yesterday. Now is that $29 for a dozen or for each ball?

I grew to love Srixon balls. I won so many of them in Past 9 and Dines and Shootouts. Now the club since the Co Owner passed darn near 2 years ago has gotten cheap and only gives out bottles of cheap wine for presents. I won so many Srixon balls in the past I have not bought a ball in 5 years. Now you can win balls if you buy the red pull tickets. That same $20 I can buy a 15 pack at Wally World and have money left over for a snack. I broke into my last 15 ball pack of Srixon Marathons for the event last week. I still have 14 of them. The odd man out is being mounted for my HIO. I played the same one after the HIO for 34 holes

@BIG STU one advantage of adaptive golf is my club head speed is too slow now to hit the huge wild foul ball so a few boxes of balls last a LONG TIME. When Srixon has that buy 2 get 1 comped sale (around Father’s Day I think) I’ll get 6 boxes and be good for a while. Even that is too many….balls might not be any good any more by the time I get through them. 😂

I found a Professional 90 (!!!) on the course yesterday. Probably a stray from the range. I got excited, wanted to see if I could rip it back off the green for giggles. Hit a GW and it flew like a quail full of hot lead. 😂 Obviously no compression and all out of round.

one of the most disappointing days in my life was in 1998. the internet was bursting. bursting with bulletin boards, chat places, people yapping about everything. saying their opinions, ideas and what they thought, what they knew.

i always thought they were children. children on the internet, and i was amused.

then i found out that they were adults.

Thank Gawd you got to read those slowly at 28k dial-up speed.

Morning.

I was up at 5:30 changing the oil in my car, now chilling at Starbucks on this cloudy morning while Mrs. RoverTiger sleeps in.

Looking forward to qualifying at Monaco in a bit.

I was lucky to be given casino tickets to the Grand Prix while a college student traveling in France during a break. Long story but we showed up at the casino in jeans and our nicest shirts. All we had. Most everyone else there in tuxes!  Didn’t matter. They treated us great once we established our bona fides and we drank free all day long. We had a great view on top of the casino from Beau Rivage to Mirabeau (if memory serves me well, lots of alcohol you know🤓). I’ve been a huge fan of F1 and the classic track like Monaco, Silverstone, and Spa ever since. Hope they never give up Monaco, although no doubt it is a qualifying course with little passing opportunity.

Basically it is the same with me. I do not have enough SS to crack an egg and do not hit it far enough to get into much trouble.

On the Balata balls a member and I do not remember if he was on here or the other site I used to go on sent me a Brand new still in the box dozen PGA brand Balata balls. I have tried 3 on the Par 3 course and after 2 holes they get out of round and egg shaped. I am going to whack a couple this summer with the persimmon driver and see. The Maxflis hold up well and spin like crazy even off the old Hickory shafted irons. I also found 3 still in the sleeve Maxfli DDH that @Scooter Mctavish sent me a few years back. I also have a sleeve of Palmer Brand Balatas he sent me too. I have played the Palmers some and they chip and putt well

according to the swiss investment bank ubs, most of the wealth of new billionaires in the world came from inheritance.

19% was earned the old-fashioned way, fraud and ponzi schemes, but they were still new billionaires after paying fines and/or serving time. the average time served is 1-2 years.

the average time for holding up a liquor store is 12 years.

the moral is choose your parents wisely, and if you’re going to steal, still big. 🙂

Today was a rest day from golf after playing 13 days in a row, walking 10 of those rounds. I am still a couple clubs shorter than this time last year but feeling better.

In that stretch, I have played clubs from four eras spanning the 1890’s to the present. I played on 6 away courses and 7 at home. I had my best round of the year on a tough track and had my worst round in many years on a tough track in high winds. I played a hole with a feathery ball for the first time. My best round was with classic clubs, my worst with modern. The last round of the stretch was a charity scramble. Our group ham and egged it to the lowest score and I won the closest to the hole.

A toonie ($2) match is scheduled for tomorrow and I hope to bounce back from my loss last Sunday but I think my friend George will try and make it two in a row.
