I am getting one for Christmas.(still in the box) I would have loved to have one of the ones that follow you around. But 500 vs 3k I think I can manage. I will be using mine on a clicgear 3.0. I am a little worried about the turning as some reviews have pointed out but I will see if it bothers me. If it does, I think you can just buy the brackets to another cart. Will wait for a sale on a swivel front wheel if that is the case.

99% of the time the unit is moving forward down the fairway...The 1% of the time you actually turn of some sorts is not a big deal using a non swivel front wheel...In the last year since I received mine, 6 other Members at my club have purchased the product and never once complained about its turning...

Love the Ewheels but like any product, there are pro's and con's to it.

Pros:

Easy to setup

Carries your bag for you

Remote capabilities

Pretty fast

Turns great with a front swivel cart

Great deal if you were part of the kickstarter

Cons:

Slanted fairways gives you a tough time to go straight, you'll have to correct it every few feet.

A little heavy to handle. I worry the handle that is has might break off while carry it out of the trunk or transporting it to storage.

Kind of clunky. No way to really anchor or store it in the trunk unless you put something to hold it. Maybe someone can make a small stand for it so it doesn't roll around everywhere?

Overall, It's helped me walking so many rounds. Once the weather got colder, I did stop using it since walking with the bag keeps me a lot warmer than just walking. Hoping for many more years to come with this guy. Definitely helps the back / body after a full round. You're not as worn as you would carrying a bag. If you are on the fence about it, don't think twice, get it and you won't regret it. And make sure you get the swivel front wheel cart. I've had clicgear 8.0 and sold that to get the front wheel swivel. Much better in handling and steering for this.

It was very easy to install on my Clicgear 3.5. Take a look at the website - I think they have videos showing the installation process.

A couple questions: I am not very mechanically inclined, so how hard is it to install? Second, I have a Sun Mountain GT, and a Bag Boy XL Quad. Do the E Wheels work better on one vs. the other?

I'm an independent sales rep and one of the lines I carry is ClicGear and the eWheels ClubBooster. I'm not familiar with the GT or the XL Quad and their designs, but I can tell you that any fixed/static wheel design from vendor to vendor will all perform the same. The only advantage to a different cart would be one with a swivel front wheel, ie. Rovis S. This cart allows the eWheels to turn like a tank without any front wheel drag AND when on the course the front wheel on the Rovic S can be locked straight to allow the cart to track better.

If I would give any advice to selecting which cart to use with eWheels, it would be one that has the lowest center of gravity and the least amount of clutter up on the handle. Additionally if you use a larger bag place the majority of your carry items low in the main pockets. Just like any cart, electric or manual, the higher the CG the more the cart will wander AND more likely to tip if driver where it shouldn't go!

I had my ewheel last season with clicgear 3.5. I loved it but it wouldn't turn as well as I wanted to. I just ordered Rovic RV1S to see how it is, it's coming next week. If I like it, I will keep RV1S and sell my 3.5+.

I'm really close to ordering one of these, how are these holding up for the original buyers, how quiet is it, what happens if the battery in the remote dies, does the cart stop?

I'm an original backer and all i can say is its awesome. I just need to have a remote holder to not push the button by an accident. My original remote batteries still work so I can't answer your question. Just carry extra AA batteries int the bag, and you should be good. I recommend it to all my friends, but they think it's pricey. I think it's well worth it if you walk alot.

I'm also an original backer. It is very quiet. I've had no issue with the remote batteries dying on the course - the triple A batteries last a long time and I keep extras in my bag in case. I did have an issue with a motor on one side but the response was quick and they replaced all of the parts I needed for the repair under the warranty. It's the best golf purchase I've ever made - makes walking a breeze particularly with the anti-wheelie bars. Two of my friends are close to purchasing one.

I got mine on black friday when Budget Golf had 20% off any one item. Have 3-4 rounds on it now with the old Clicgear 3.0, and absolutely love it. But turning isn't that great with the fixed wheel, so will be going with the Rovic. A cheaper alternative to the Rovic would be the Costco Caddytek front swivel wheel cart (currently $129) Overall the product is awesome so far and would highly recommend to others.

Please be mindful with applying the eWheels to other carts... the original purchase of your cart has brackets that matches up to the cart it will be used on. If you switch carts, you will have to replace your rear brackets which I believe are nominal cost ~$30. Not sure if the brackets will fit the Costco cart unless it was a "namebrand" cart that was rebadged. My sample eWheel is on a Rovic Swivel and it turns like a tank even when fully loaded.

Today was the first time taking my ewheels out on the course with a clicgear 3.0. To those asking, it was pretty easy to install. You just need a couple socket wrenches and a screw driver. I walked 18 today on a really muddy course. I really enjoyed it. I normally couldn't have made it walking 18 with the bag or pushing without being drained. My legs were feeling it some but I had a lot more energy than I otherwise would have. I didnt really mind the steering with the 3.0, you could just go to lower speeds to get the tank like turns, but I did fight the thing all day running left. I suppose I need to adjust the front wheel, but it went straight before so who knows. Any other suggestions?

Really happy with the purchase so far. I know they sell a bag to store it in, but will likely try to find an alternative (cheaper) to keep it from rolling in the trunk and keep it from making a mess when charging.

Just ordered an ewheels using the budgetgolf.com 15% off coupon. Is everyone who is using this still happy with it? Do you think the wheelie bar is a necessary accessory (my home course isn't too hilly, but there are a couple of steep walks between holes). I'll be installing on a bagboy triswivel 2. Anyone else using this push cart? If so, how was installation?

Best golf related purchase I've ever made. The wheelie bars are essential for the two courses I play. You'll know pretty quickly if you need them or not. Can't help you with that cart because I use a CG 3.5+

As an independent sales rep for ClicGear and Club Booster eWheels, I can say that the wheelie bars aren't necessary. You will find quick if you do need them though... if you have to stop uphill on hilly courses a lot, then the stop and go action will tilt the cart backwards. The other reason could be if you use a cart bag that has "cart accessible" pockets designed high on the bag, this may raise the CG of the entire cart/bag and make it more prone to tipping.

I've found through my personal use that my walking/stand bag with lower pockets works very well and I haven't had the need for the wheelie bar. Safe assured... all the eWheels that are shipping now have the brackets for the wheelie bar, so you'd just have to purchase them as an accessory.

If anybody has any direct related questions, feel free to PM me.

The one I ordered from BudgetGolf.com was just delivered today and it came with the brackets for wheelie bars. Unfortunately the wheelie bars are out of stock until 2/18. If you received the older style clamps that aren't compatible with the wheelie bars, AlphardGolf will send you a conversion kit at no charge when you order the wheelie bars

Of the people who have used both fixed front wheel and swivel, is swivel worth upgrading your cart? I have a Clicgear 3.5+ that I would sell and buy a Rovic RV1S, hopefully it would only set me back around $100 net. Is the swivel wheel really worth it?

The Rovic RV1S gives the cart greater mobility, especially at speed or in tight spaces, i.e. cart staging areas. If your golf bag gets weighted down, which I don't recommend for battery life, it can be more difficult to turn the eWheels on a static front wheel like the RV1C or the CG 3.5.

BUT you get a bonus with the swivel front wheel... the RV1S front wheel can be locked straight with a level under the push handle. So I suppose you get the best of both worlds!!!

Do ewheels dealers send you new mounting brackets if you change your model of push cart? I think I want to try it out on the 3.5+ since many users here indicate it works well, and I do really like my current push cart.

You'll need to purchase the brackets for the new cart from the dealer or alphard golf, $39.99.

What's the general consensus on this thing? strongly thinking about getting one! also what is considered the best push cart to use with it? thanks

I just took mine out for the first time yesterday, and I was admittedly underwhelmed and frustrated by it.

In fairness, it was a very hilly course here in Denver with a little snow in spots (go figure, it doesnt do well in snow!).

Have it on a clicgear 3.5 with an Under Armour cart bag.

It honestly felt like I was babysitting something the entire round. I bought this so I could enjoy the walk, take in the beauty of the course, and have a more cerebral round. But it had the opposite effect.

I'll start with the cons:

  • It just won't track straight. This is probably more of an issue with my clicgear and cart bag, as the cart bag wont sit on there very straight all the time. I've adjusted the front wheel on my clicgear 3.5 so it tracks straight, but it was terrible yesterday and always pushed to the left. I had to constantly adjust so it didnt run off into the fescue or down a steep hill. Which leads me to my next con:
  • Turning with the clicgear 3.5 is terrible. You have to have the EWheels on the slowest speed for it to really turn with any decency, but the slowest setting is too slow to walk with. So I found myself constantly adjusting the speed down so I could turn it tighter, then I'd push the speed back up.
  • The slowest speed is too slow. My bag couldn't be that heavy for a cart bag. 6.8lb UA bag is on the heavier side, but I wasnt carrying much with me other than clubs, a few balls, a windbreaker, and a water bottle.
  • It tips constantly. I think the wheelie bar is a requirement, even if your course is flat. I've played some flat courses, they still have little bumps and hills, especially around the greens, that would be enough to tip this thing. This was my first round out with my brand new Callaway X-Forged irons, and the damn thing spilled them all over the cart path 3-4 times. Even if you think your course is flat, I'd still recommend the wheelie bar.

Pros

  • When it did work, it was nice. There were a handful of times I could just set it and start walking, and it did what it was supposed to do. Those times were rare, but when they did happen, it was lovely. I wanted to be more present on the walk and enjoy the course, but you end up messing with the remote in your hand 99% of the time trying to control the thing. So when it does work as intended, it's great.
  • This was my first round out after ACL reconstruction last November. Walking was great, this absolutely made it easier on the body. I'm not a fan of carrying a full set, especially for 18 holes on a long and hilly course. I have a Jones Original for a partial set when playing 9, but I wont take it 18. I'm trying to avoid taking carts as much as possible this year, so this ewheels will definitely help allow me to walk 18 more.

My opinion, but 1000% necessary, even on flat courses. I grew up in Indiana and played flat farmland courses. Even those courses had enough little bumps and hills, especially around the greens, that would tip this thing. I cant see any courses here around Denver that would be consistently flat enough to use this without the wheelie bars.

Of the people who have used both fixed front wheel and swivel, is swivel worth upgrading your cart? I have a Clicgear 3.5+ that I would sell and buy a Rovic RV1S, hopefully it would only set me back around $100 net. Is the swivel wheel really worth it?

This might be my path now. I took it out on the CG 3.5 yesterday and I think it was a bad experience. Turning was impossible at anything faster than the slowest speed, and I hated keeping it that slow. Made for a very frustrating round trying to nanny the pushcart all day.
