Ping K15 driver

I just picked up a spare used Ping K15 driver. I've owned several of the newer drivers from Ping, Titliest, Cobra, TM...... But I would always have a K15 as my back up. Inevitably, the K15 would end up as my primary driver and the new modern "must have" driver would end up for sale. I love the look, feel, and sound of the K15. Distance wise they were all the same. But the K15 is soooo accurate! Anyone else still playing a K15 driver?

One of my playing partners has had a K15 in his bag for quite a while. It was just displaced by an Epic.

I still have a 10.5* and a 12* K15, each re-shafted with a Blueboard pulled from Rapture V2 drivers from that era. I probably prefer the 12* for forgiveness and launch, but neither one stays in my bag long these days. The K15 is a great driver, but the inability to swap shafts easily, and to tweak loft and L-R direction, compared to today's adjustable drivers, sets it back a bit IMO. But if you want simple, and straight, there isn't much better than the K15.

Yes, I still have one in a set that I play about half my rounds with in a year. Also, have a Ping G15 in the other set. Both are great. I just can't seem to replace them. That whole "15" series from PING was very good across the whole line.

I saw a guy at the driving range hitting it the other day. I played the G15 for a short bit. That was a good line for Ping.

I've owned I believe 4 of the 10.5's and 4 or 5 12* over the years. I had a slight k15 problem.

 

Does anyone know where the K15 stood in terms of moi ? MGS moi charts don't go back that far. Curious if this was Pings highest moi driver head ? I think in terms of footprint it was the largest with perhaps the G20 or G25 rivaling it.

I tend to Hook rather than fade, so bought a K15 5 wood 18 months ago.

Super easy launch etc, but i hooked that all the time! Sold after 2 rounds!!

Great for slight faders or Slicers!!

I had a K15 7 wood. That thing should have been under arrest for being the best. Bad news is that it got stolen and I have moved on. I think I'm going to go on ebay now and find one. LOL
