This topic interests me. I'll be getting a 20 deg later this week. Apparently they don't make the 18 in lefty. Still getting my stock Modus 130 but I don't think that's gonna work for what I want in the 20. Eying a HZRDUS black 85 shaft for it. We'll see.

i play 130s in irons

had a 105s in the 18-2 iron and just swapped it for the ad-di hybrid 95 s shaft ,,,,,, Insanity bombs off tee and carpet - smooth and powerful - much better dispersion and delivery than the 105s

my 2 cents

Anyone know the hosel size in the U65 and the H65?

Thanks in advance

I play Nippon 1050's in stiff in my irons. Just bought the U65 3/20* off the rack brand new from my local course/shop. Anyone think that the Miyazaki 7S utility in stiff is a good match or good pair in relation to my other irons? I bought it on a whim while getting some grips done, just your old fashioned impulse buy. I have always preferred hitting irons, even long irons, never ever had any luck with any traditional hybrid. I would not be considered a high ball hitter, my swing is more of a downward into the ball/ground, it always has been. The Nippons have helped in this department and paired with the irons I play I don't think too much spin has been a problem either even though I do impart a good amount of spin on my shots. I also thought that I would end up with this club, but with the stock steel option that Srixon offers, the Nippon 980gh DST, but would take a custom order from somewhere. I was also recommended the graphite option in my shop by the guys who work on clubs in this type of club for most people rather than any steel shaft. I have also read about this recommendation, mostly because of the length of the club itself as it will help get through the shot or ball better. Driver swing speed is generally high 90's to low 100's, 6 iron generally low 80's to upper 80's. Thanks for any thoughts.

Interesting choice.. I had the stock Miyazaki Kaula 7s in my U65 18° when I bought it, but tested out my Tour AD DJ-7x in it for a while. I sold off the U65 head, if anyone wants to test out the Miyazaki shaft. I actually like the Callaway Apex UT driving irons better for some reason.

I'm interested in trying out the miyazaki shaft. Let me know.

I also have a 20* u65 and I went with the same shaft as my irons c taper 125 s+ and it hits perfect. I made sure I kept it the same swing weight as my irons d2.5 so I had to grind a little off the head. The only problem with the club is it goes a little long and leaves me a bigger gap then I wanted. So I took the 20* and weakened it to 21* and it’s much closer to the yardage I want

I matched my irons' Pro Modus 130X shaft in my utility U65 2 iron 18 degree because I wasn't a fan of the Miyazaki. I wanted a true DI for the windy days off the tee and short par 4s, but still give par 5s a crack in 2 as it's easy to elevate when I move it forward in my stance. I also carry an Adams 9031 20* hybrid with an Accra XH85 shaft. I seriously thought I'd go for a similar graphite shaft, but the Modus fit my needs and Srixon doesn't charge for upgrades. Not sure about in the States as your choices seem limited for once compared to us down under, but Srixon do carry the 18* in lefty and their reps are some of the best blokes around.
