Toulon Garage Heaven

I tried building a Long Island on the Garage website, but I was only given the stock finish option... what happened to the black finish as an option? Is that no longer available?

I'm puzzled by the lack of talk and purchasing of the Toulon Long Island verse the other models. Is it that distinctive of a shape that only fits to certain minority of eyes, kinda like the 8802 shape?

 

I know I love mine and that's what's important.

 

I picked up a Long Island from the garage- absolutely love the look of it, but the putter just isn't for me unfortunately. Not many places to off load it either! I am waiting for the H7 neck to become available on the Atlanta, or for the Azalea to hit the garage

The Long Island style blade has a very small user group compared to all others. I can only think of a few pros T. Lehman & J. Haas have been forever, R. Fowler, J. Rose & L. Oosthuizen are on & off.

Then you have the FCB guys - F. Couples & the young gun Cameron Smith. I love the FCB but most are to light for me.

 

I know this type of blade has a huge collectors following but very few get it to work for them. Hope your next stick works out better for you!

I was between the Long Island and Betti BB1...was seconds from picking up the long island but I found a BB1 barely used for half the price on the next rack over at EW.

 

If i can find a used Long Island for a good price I would pick one up in a second, it was very nice. I love the neck.

Howdy fellow Toulon fans. Met Sean Toulon at an event this weekend. Talked to him for awhile, tried some of the stuff, and long story short, I ordered a garage putter. Really looking forward to it and these two weeks will be a brutal wait.

 

Specs: Austin, with an H2 neck (which doesn't appear to be an option on the website), 1 degree flat, 35 inches, black pearl and red and white paint job and a flange line (I'm old and my eyes need help sometimes.) Kind of regret not getting some stamping, but I'll let the putts speak for themselves.

 

I'll post pictures for people who want to see it.

how’d you go about getting a neck that wasn’t offered through customization? just call?

Honestly, I'm not sure. Its just what they wrote down on the form. It wasn't until I decided to "build" it on the website so I could look at it that I didn't see it on the choices. Maybe it's a website oversight. It's just the longer plumber's neck, not anything unique to me. FWIW, the idea was to reduce toe hang, but still keep me in a blade rather than something more mallet like, which I generally dislike.

I wont say crappy because I like the looks of it but it barely fits over my Toulon Long Island leaving the heal slightly exposed.

Ordered this a while back and got it last week...already four rounds on it and have to say it is quite amazing!! Speed control is on point and very easy to hit my lines while putting!!
