Very nice! That is how Toulon did my Colts Blue Indianapolis. I think that's the way they should all look.

The first prototype of the Indianapolis I ever saw had a black face on it. Just looks natural to me

Agree. Took it out today and the matte black just looks awesome.

 

It was custom ordered with the 45g weights in the bottom, man it rolls the ball great.

i really hope that when the atlanta finally comes out it is close to face balanced in its default config or at least has the option through garage. if not double bend then maybe the h2 long neck.

 

really excited about the shape of the head as long as i can get the balance close to what i like

Love that! My paint fill is reverse. No fill on hosel, stamp on toe for me.

 

What grip did you use?

 

Superstroke Mid Slim 2.0 in stock green color.

 

I've had a chance to putt a little with it. I made the first 30-footer that I attempted. My Callaway rep gave me samples of the new Chrome Soft and Chrome Soft X balls and the feel of my Columbus with the new Chrome Soft is extraordinary. The only way I can describe it is clicky soft.

As usual I went to the UPS office and picked up my package early! No waiting for the truck!

 

Team Toulon continues to enhance their garage experience. In addition to my Garage Putter, head cover, accessory bag and stickers, I found a nice Toulon design box. Inside this box is where my COA and two nice surprises! A divot tool and ball Marker! Super cool!

 

 

 

Oh, there was a putter in there too! A Columbus model, With black pearl finish and custom paint fill. I had them do the T in the cavity and sole and face in a blue and a V in white. No paint fill on the hosel or the face lines. It has a black shaft, a Toulon Design Super Stroke in Tour Blue grip. And my initials are stamped on the toe with white fill.

looks great, ed! i’m kinda bummed cause my black finish columbus picked up a few slight battle wounds sunday on some sandy greens. tried keeping the ball and head as clean as possible but wiping sand off the face etc made some scratches and i even got a small speck of finish removed/marred in one of the face lines.

I think the Atlanta was a slant neck and the Portland was a PN. Both were unfinished so just gray. I did get a chance to to roll Tag Ridings' garage Indy with a slant neck--love.

all y’all toulon players, how do you get your best roll? I feel like if I have a very slight forward press the ball has way more energy moving forward and holds a line better than if I don’t do any forward press.

It is called Rose Gold. And as much as I’ve never seen it in person, I think your description of copper is pretty accurate.

Ed, have you experienced any issues with the finish on yours? Or anyone with the black pearl finish?

 

I have the same finish on mine (I think) and there seems to be some kind of clear coat that scratches very easily.

I have 2 putters that have black pearl finish. One of them I’ve had for 2 seasons. I have not seen any wear or damage to the finish. I would reach out to Customer Service and see what they suggest.

mine got some sand damage from a green, there’s a tiny “chip” in one of the grooves of the face, i’m assuming happened when I wiped the club dry with my towel.

I think as long as you have something that is repeatable, that’s all you really need.

 

And I don’t want to oversimplify. I have had my best year putting in recent memory. But I have a good putter and I practice more than I ever have before. Early in the spring, I found the ball position and set up that gave me the best roll. And if I had a bad round putting, I made sure I went back to that basic set up.

 

Whatever gets the ball started online and with the good roll is a great starting spot for anybody.

 

 

Maybe we should get Sean or Joe Toulon on here to give us some input!!

So I thought I would share my Garage experience. With the help of Ed Settle, I started my wish list for a new putter to add to the collection. When Sean started the Garage, the concept was based on one off creations, pick a head shape, add a neck style, choose a color, and customize with algnment, stamping, paint fill and grip. Since becoming part of Callaway / Odyssey those options have changed a little. My wish was a notchback ( Columbus ) with short plumbers neck in black mist with my name stamped on the bumpers.

Well you can only order the Columbus with the long neck and you can only have four characters on each bumper.

Ok the toe bang will be slight arc and I used my kids initials for the stamps. 7 days after the order, a very nice box shows up and I cannot wait to see this putter. Unfortunately, the stamping on bumpers was done either too firmly or too close to the top and created a wavy / creased look when at address. Major bummer. Honestly was surprised it left the Garage in that condition. But one call and some texted pictures later and I was issued a UPS call tag a new order number. Now 5 days later with overnight shipping and it’s here. Perfect in every way. To be honest, it’s almost too nice to even play. My advice to any of you thinking about a Garage putter, do it, you won’t be disappointed.
