I just ordered a San Diego through Golf Galaxy so I could test it out before spending the cash to customize through Toulon Garage. I thought I was ordering the latest version, but I was sent a Toulon San Diego before they were purchased by Odyssey. Does anyone know if this is the exact same putter, grip, and headcover before they started making them under Odyssey? I want to make sure I'm testing exactly what I would end up ordering via the Garage.

 

Other than that, I guess only downside would be lower resale value once I sell and upgrade to a Garage version?

Only difference, I believe, would be the 2017 vs. 2016 grip if it came with a Super Stroke.

And the engraving on the weight plate would say Odyssey rather than Toulon

 

Great thanks guys. I have the stock grip (not SS), so that should be same. And could care less about the name engraving on the weight plate. Loving it so far!

 

The detail of the putter would be exactly the same. I have 2 pre-Odyssey Toulon's (Madison/Rochester) and the basic putter is the same. Possible grip and head cover differences.

Switched from Scotty X7M recently to Toulon San Diego. So incredibly happy with new Toulon. My putting improved significantly in my first round. Can't wait to customize one in the Garage.

as i'm eagerly awaiting my toulon columbus, is anyone able to compare the oworks micro hinge insert to the milled face of the toulon? i know apples to oranges but in wondering if the oworks that i like is going to be too drastically different from the toulon face to switch.

O works feel really soft to me and has a more muted sound. The Toulons feel firmer and solid, kind of in the same family as a stainless Scotty

I rolled an O-Works until I got the Indianapolis earlier this year. They are drastically different, but I like the Toulon WAY better. The O-Works got the ball rolling nicely, but felt like a sponge, I couldn't get over the softness/muffled sound of it. The Toulon is a very different feel and sound. It's muted, but firm off the face and I think it puts a really nice roll on the ball.

I am waiting at just over 5 weeks but am now thinking the pro at the club did not put the order in when he says he did. So who knows where I am in the queue?

I would give it some more time, Toulon even says it could be up to 6 weeks.

i'm so frustrated w callaway. ordered a non garage columbus on 7/17 with just a different grip option. they don't tell me i can't get that grip, that just choose a different one for me. i see this on the order status page so i contact them to find out wtf. we work it out to just go with the stock black deep etch grip. hear nothing, hear nothing, call a few times and they tell me they have to email production team and they will email me with info. never get an email. call again and again to the same song and dance. finally someone emails me back that it should ship by 7/18. now it's 7/28 and it still hasn't shipped. for a STOCK effin columbus. i'm tempted to just cancel at this point and say f it. is it worth it??? or cancel and just order from dick's and get my scorecard points.

I understand your frustration. But I don't there are a lot on Columbus models around. I don't know for sure but I would think that a lot of the garage orders have been for the Austin, Long Island the new versions of the San Diego and Madison, and the Rochester. Obviously they're making some of the Indianapolis and those are made in three pieces.

 

I would say relax and work with Customer Service to get it lined out. I want you receive it you will forget all about your wait.
