Not sure about customs to UK, but I bought some Callaway Legacy Black irons a few years ago and the transaction went fine, fwiw.

Vendors on Rakuten are vetted and have to pay over $8,000 up front just to be listed. Yes, it's safe.

 

Taxes are always the responsibility of the buyer. You'll have to pay VAT. I think Ireland has a 2-3% tariff on golf clubs. You can Google that customs info yourself.

Recommend Rakuten without hesitation. No idea on UK VAT. I did not pay any additional taxes or customs charges here in the USA.

bought from atomicgolf before, service was great and everything went well.....the only difference between ebay and Rakuten is that you need to wait 24-48hrs or so to confirm shipping fees before they process the order

I've used Rak a few times and ALWAYS had to pay import duties/handling charges in to the UK.

I don;t know Bogey but have seen him on other boards....

 

Golf effort is like Golf Partner, a really large retail used club chain in Japan and are reliable and I know many who have bought from them with no issues, me included (Golf Partner). Whether they ship direct or not is a valid question... but a buying/shipping service easily solves that.

I clicked on the link and since I can't read Japanese it was confusing. Saying "Better" needs more explanation and I appreciate your input.

 

Do they sell "New" JPN products like Ratuken? Do they do PayPal? Credit Cards? Ship EMS? I'm on the East Coast of the USA and have placed orders on Ratuken and they are delivered to my house in 4 working days and the prices are fantastic.

 

Better needs to probably come with a Geisha Girl.... :)

Well I do read Japanese, I'm in Japan right now and not confused. They are a small chain of 7 shops, sell and buy online and look to have some very nice used gear. Yes they take credit cards (no paypal) and yes they have a variety of new and used equipment and accessories. Looks like they sell and do a lot aftermarket shaft work.

 

I doubt they'll get any customers outside Japan though without any English on their site. ;)

Don't know about IK, but I am in USA and love Rakuten. Additionally, a number of vendors accept PayPal, which adds another layer of peace of mind...

I don't see anything on their site about not collecting taxes on foreign shipments. I doubt they do any or much and Japan sales tax of 8% is always collected in Japan. Some shop will charge and others may not, but many will simply collect it as a surcharge for overseas orders.
