Did you watch it? It's obvious she has a good swing. It's was pouring rain at the time and her grip probably slipped + she admitted she was super nervous.

 

That said, she could be very popular if she played real golf at a high level.

"If" she played golf at a high level. There is not much to suggest she could even be a competitive A-grader. There has been much tougher conditions at the Scottish Open, but I am not seeing air-shots.

 

The long-drive tournament is a bit of fun, but not golf. I was wincing at those swings.

 

But you are all right - she would be very popular if she could play golf! Gorgeous.

Being a long drive champion is no guarantee of success as a professional golfer. There are so many important aspects to tournament golf, ranging from a good short game, putting, and a strong iron game to aspects such as strong mental and strategic mind. I'm not saying that Troy could not play professional golf, but she would have to work on all of the other aspects of her game to compete week in and week out. She would also have to work on her driving accuracy -- its one thing to land a 380 yard drive at altitude into a grid while the remaining 10 shots go out of bounds or are mis-hit.

 

If she could do it, I think she'd be a terrific addition to the tour, but if at the end of the day, she decided to continue competing as a long drive competitor, I will still follow her and cheer her on in that venue!
