(NO POLITICS) Nike Footwear for 2018

Recommended Posts

Okay Dad, I ask because I don't understand it. This fact or belief has been carelessly thrown about by many people here ever since AIT came out in a shoe. I don't understand why when I have had several shoes like this with zero problems, and my observation seems to be the most factually correct consensus.

Why do I care? Because lots of people read these boards, including Nike employees and golfers interested in footwear. I am a huge fan of AIT and see it as a radical deviation from spikes that offers a huge improvement.

I know of no other community that I have ever been a part of that is more resistant to radical change than the golf community, so yes I do take issue with what I see as baseless damaging claims about a niche product I greatly enjoy because it could directly impact the availability of this product if people stop buying them because of nonsense they read, or influence others not to buy them because of the same.

I am a very large man, and have noted that all of my shoes, spikeless(GFore), or AIT(Lunar Vapor), or spiked(TW71) caused some degree of damage. I would say the GFore are the harshest on the greens, and the AIT and spiked are similar. If you walk heel to toe and don’t drag your feet, it should be fine. Just my two cents from a heavier guy, which should logically increase traction and damage on the greens.

Don’t get the green. Why not volt? If you must have a standout color on the bottom.

I’m surprised other than TW wearing the NASTY PE TW71 out casually, they we haven’t seen anything on the successor to the TW71/17 now that a few majors have gone by in 2018.

Does anyone know what’s the latest plan?

I’m surprised with the success of TWs return that nike has not released any new TW shoes. I’m sure we will see a revamp at the start of the 19 season.

DDR,

I used ‘know’ loosely. Here’s what I meant:

It’s been brought up asked about in a few threads on here. In two of the four pro shops that i frequent, it’s been brought up in conversations. Not until the LCV2 dropped, did I hear of the marks it may leave. I had purchased the flyknit elites (same cleating), but hadn’t played in them. Mainly from being so warm where I live, I can play in shorts through October. So I never got to personally see my footprint while wearing AIT system on a green.

January 2016, I first played in some elite’s and noticed the marks I was leaving as I moved about the green. Not an entire footprint was visible. Only the longest part of the cleating would dig in to an extent of being visible afterwards. If you know AIT, you know what I mean. Did I stick around and see if the grass returned to a better state after my round? No. But there were times that I was stamping my putters sole on marks quite a bit after finishing a hole. I noticed it more in places where I might have squatted to replace and align my ball after cleaning it. Also leaning down to pick the ball out of the hole, if I put my weight on one foot.

In March or so last year I purchased two pairs of new LCV’s. Same result. I haven’t experienced the wet or soggy green, as to what some on here spoke about. Apparently it was worse.

Has anyone followed me or my group to the 19th hole after a round and complained about marks? No.

Was it brought up by actual Nike rep to the person who gave me some insight on new and upcoming golf footwear? Can’t say for sure, nor will I ask. But the msg I received about the change did mention it.

No harm no foul, DDR. Not a problem to get into at length from a keyboard. Because after all it is an online forum and that’s what we do here. Type and converse about anything golf. I’m not trying to damage any Nike reputation nor discourage new customers. I play golf in Nike kicks and nothing else. I’m a big of Nike fan boy as any. Thanks.

Joe

PGA Premieres with blue camo bottoms.

Those touches of blue camo on the sole and swoosh are nice! But I thought HV3 was a Jordan brand guy more than the Nike side.

Well it's not HV3 that posted it :)

It was Ryan Vermeer :)

Anyone know the release date on these? May be my excuse to pick up the Premieres.

Those new Roshe shoes look like they have AIT plus spikes. Best of both worlds?

Yeah. They do appear to have them.
