Hi all, long time viewer, finally started posting...

Currently planning (airfare is already booked) Orlando trip itinerary for our foursome, 2/7 to 2/11, we are all from PA. This is our tentative schedule outlined below, then I’ll need to book it. Please let me know of any suggestions or concerns, thank you in advance!!

Day 1: Arrive early Wednesday, staying at Orange Lake Resort, play The Legends @Orange Lake (18)

Day 2:Grand Cypress - N/S (18), New Course (18)

Day 3: Orange County National - Panther Lake (18)

Day 4: Bayhill (Pro at my local club can make tee time) or Waldorf Astoria (18)

Day 5: Last day, early round at Southern Dunes (18)

Additional courses I’m torn on:

Tranquilio at 4 Seasons

Shingle Creek

Reunion Resort Courses (after reading reviews I think I favor Grand Cypress)

Open to any and all suggestions, thanks again!

Tranquilo is nice.

Agree with Tranquilo. Plus you’ll see some of the finest homes central Florida. The Palm in Disney is in the best shape that I’ve seen. If you decide to go to Disney, be aware there is a new traffic pattern by the MK parking gate. To get to the Palm and Magnolia you must bear to the far right before you get to the MK parking gate. It is a genuine pain in the neck. If you choose the Palm or Magnolia try to get there via Reams Rd or Vista Blvd and avoid the half mile back-up on World Dr.

Thanks for the feedback, beginning to book now, better to book thru TeeTimesUSA, or to call courses individually? Any thoughts

I've booked our guys trip to Orlando via TeeTimesUSA for the past 7 years; golf/lodging/rental minivan. They are excellent, IMO. The reps actually visit the resorts and can give you advice on where to stay, etc. We've stayed at Reunion for a bunch of years now in a house. We don't even play the courses there anymore (they aren't bad, we've just found a group we really enjoy). Happy to help with any advice needed.

Our top handful of courses in Orlando in no particular order:

Waldorf

Southern Dunes

Ritz/ Grande Pines

OCN Panther Lake

Championsgate Country Club

Tranquilo

Heading to Streamsong for a day this year, so may be adding a couple of new favorites.

I'd put Waldorf over Grand Cypress.

RH

Looks like the schedule has changed a little bit... Now we are only playing 3 days and as follows:

Thursday: Southern Dunes Golf Club (18)

Friday: Grand Cypress New Course in AM (18), Grand Cypress South/North (18) Afternoon

Saturday: Bayhill or Waldorf Astoria Golf Club (18)

Sunday: Lick our wounds and depart for home

Do you recommend another place to play 36 (at same place) rather than Grand Cypress? And if I am able to squeeze in one additional round, I think we are going to try to play Orange County National - Panther Lake... Or I guess the ideal set up would be both Waldorf/Bayhill and scratch Panther Lake.

OCN is a good bet for 36 holes. I like the Grand Cypress New Course. I don't hate the Grand Cypress N/S/E courses, but their green contours are ridiculous.

The only other 36 hole possibility I can think of that is worth it would be Celebration and Falcon's Fire. They are right next to each other. Or...this may be a small stretch...ChampionsGate Country Club and then go up the road to play Orange Lake Resort Legends.

You could also do Waldorf and Ritz back to back on Friday. Not that bad of a ride between the two. We've "back to backed" them for a few years in a row on the same day.

Okay, I think I have the itinerary set up for sure this time... we finally confirmed our foursome and the dates, 2/14 - 2/18.. We are also staying on the cheap at Shingle Creek...

Wednesday: Tranquilo

Thursday: Southern Dunes

Friday: Grand Cypress New Course/N+S (36)

Saturday: Waldorf Astoria

Shingle Creek is our fallback track, due to location...

Does anyone know of any overseeding/aeration that may be going on next month, or is that not even a concern in February?

Thanks All!

Nice lineup. If you haven't been to Shingle Creek, it's a really nice hotel. Even if you don't play the course, the short game/putting green/range is a short walk out of the side of the hotel. Plus the pro shop is huge, they carry almost everything you could imagine.

I doubt any of those courses will be overseeding or doing any other type of maintenance during that time period, that's peak season for Florida golf! I played Southern Dunes over Thanksgiving weekend and it was wall to wall green, lush and gorgeous.

Make sure to hit the range before your round at Tranquilo, the practice ProV's are always a nice feature!

Damn! Nice lineup for sure. Tranquilo is one of my favorite tracks that I've played in Orlando. You'll enjoy it thoroughly. Get there early, go to the range and afterwards if you have time eat at the restaurant, the food there is superb.

Grand Cypress is also a fantastic experience every time I go.

Matter of fact, if you need an extra player hit me up! LOL!

Both are fantastic, so you can't go wrong. I would go with Tranquilo slightly, as it is going private soon.

I've got an Orlando trip booked for the end of Feb/early March. We are playing Tranquilo on March 1 so if it's private by then we somehow snuck our booking in!
