HUNTER ....

They are calling your name, Sir ......

I'm talking about yours too!

You guys got it .... Give me through the week to get some pics together.

What's with the Eagles stuff? Lose a bet?

W O R L D C H A M P I O N S

Lol I'm from Philly and a life long Birds fan. I just thought a guy living in Foxborough who used to have another team in his name might have lost a bet. I support the change :)

I never changed it, never thought too, had spent 14, 15, 16, some years building a Golf Equipment Reputation. After the Super Bowl WIN (suck it, New England!), life kinda changed, thought about it a week or so and made the change to EaglesGolf99!!

I actually worked IN Patriot Place in Foxboro at Gillette. When I went to get my mail, I was under the stadium. I wore an Eagles hat to work, EVERYDAY, 365, for three years!!! I had everyone from Gronk, to Pat Chung (HATER), to Nate Solder, to Brandon Browner to Vince Wilfork, etc. to take my hat off. Never did! I got LOVE from one, former, Eagle, Big Issac, Issac Sopauaga (sp?)!!! We actually met in a bank, I had my head down, I look up and he's starring me down! Big grin on his face, I'm decked out in an Eagles Fleece and Eagles beanie, Issace had just been traded by Chip Kelly to New England. He looks at me and says, "you got balls, my man!" .... We chatted for 15-20 minutes and became regular acquaintances.

Hats off to the Eagles and their fans. And aww yeah for it not being the Patriots.

Sad news today. I hit my Cal Hottie 3i on the range and even though I was swinging it well, shots were only going 120 yds. As I looked down I saw that the grip had twisted 90*. I checked the head and sure enough there is a gap between the hosel and ferrule. The head is twisting off. I'm disappointed in my fitter but he will make it right. This is my second year with the set. I put the 7w back in the bag for now.

I only have a couple of range sessions under my belt with the Baby Blades, I have my first round booked in for Sunday.

I let a buddy of mine hit them the other day at the range, his first hit with the pitching wedge landed right on the 100m target (which when measured with my scope was 126 yards, grass tees were a little bit back from usual area. The target is about the size of a tyre. He smiles and says yeah spose they are ok

Haha that's a great story and I can definitely confirm you are a better fan than I am. Impressive!

I've spent plenty of time in OCNJ and the wife was born and raised in LBI. Still spend at least a couple weeks a year down there. I also have family down the street from you in Somers Point. My uncles are members at Great Bay and I'm fond of a few courses down there. Have a serious soft spot for Ballamor and of all the great courses I've been lucky enough to play my all time favorite is Galloway National.

Sad to hear about the 3i but it reminded me I forgot to congratulate on holing a BB 3i the other day. I would still be smiling ear to ear if I holed a BB 3i!

Thanks and yeah I was so messed up after that shot because of the elation and adrenaline rush. I hit a wild drive off the next hole and the memory of the shot is going to linger for a while. And yeah it was with my Porn Star 3i from my gamer bag. Felt sooooooo good!

On the psychology benefit of the BBs I think the blissful superior feel is an excellent positive reinforcement feedback mechanism. Because they feel so damn good, you just want to keep playing them and striving to achieve that feel which is the same thing as a good shot. By contrast, the standard "forgiving" way of looking at things and your game is to fear your miss hits and focus on that over all else. Plus the feel and feedback is just inferior. It's a more pessimistic view of your game. Personally I like the optimistic focus you get from the pleasurable feel and good result rewards of a good strike rather than a pessimistic focus on a supposedly mitigated bad strike and lackluster feel and result. It's purely just a different psychological way of looking at the same thing, but to me I would rather have the optimist's view rather than the pessimist's which is why I like the BBs, notwithstanding the fact that they are already technically superior to carney sham(e) high MOI "forgiving" clubs!

Anyone try the pxg 0311t? Thinking of selling my backup set of bbs and picking up a set with PXG hero program. I know the bb are a different animal but just curious what bb lovers who have hit them think about them.

PXG makes nice clubs. They have a decent feel and a good look. They do have a much hotter face than a true blade however and you will (should) hit them further side by side (even with equal lofts) compared to a pure blade. Personally, I get a tighter dispersion and more consistent ball speeds with a pure blade than I do with a PXG. Both the 0311t and the 0311t G2 are nice clubs, I prefer the top line on the original 0311t but got better performance out of the G2.

If I could justify the cost, I would 100% have gone with some black ones. They are incredible.

Maybe for my next set. I've talked to a couple of different Miura reps that say they aren't actually discontinued, just going to a more limited production. Here's hoping they're right.

Just get your chrome ones good and worn then have them refinished in black oxide. That's what I did.

Well they look fantastic. Where did you sen them to get refinished?

Last I checked horty1388 wasn't doing them any longer though. There are a few other options out there though. I did the last "refinish" myself. Now they're simply matte black, I like the polished look w/matte grooves much better.

I have my first round with my 1957 Small Blades tomorrow :). Feel a bit like a kid on Christmas Eve....... I have been wanting a set of Baby Blades for years but have never really spent the time to find a decent deal. Stumbled upon one last week and took a chance. Have put Tour Issue Dynalite Gold XP X100’s in them and they are absolutely pure.

I have been on a smaller head is better for me campaign and so have the irons in the bag with a M3 440, M3 3HL and SLDR 5HL (all nice small headed woods). Then took my Scratch 8620s and ground them to a straight leading edge (53* and 58*) and finally a John Byron Dale Head 9 putter!

Can’t wait for tomorrow......

The ultimate bag for me would be driver, 1i - GW BB, a low bounce 58* black wedge, and putter. I would call it my 'engineer's bag'. The thought of nutting a 40" 1i pure makes me all hot and bothered.

So being a fan of Nelly I heard this song (uncensored) recently and the thought of this thread made me sing "my blades better" than "my b*tch better". It's become my BB anthem.

I love how you can see the spin welded hosel so clearly in the first pic.

Man, those are gorgeous. If and when I purchase a set of blades, whether I can swing them or not, I am going to spring for a set of baby blades, black if I can. These are such great looking irons, I am super jealous.

Mostly PING clubs, with TaylorMade woods.

Turns out the Miura wedges that came with my preowned CB57’s are the classic black wedges in 50, 54 and 60. I really like them. Nice off tight turf. Nice thump on full swings.

They are not black at all and have developed quite the rusted/patina look. In fact, for whatever reason I can’t see the grooves all that well from address. Is there a way to clean them up a little? Not entirely, just make the face a little easier to see well.

If I’m not mistaken, those are black oxide (hot application, I’m sure). If that’s the case, you can buy black oxide from Caswell and clean/refresh them as will. It’s a cold application which certainly won’t work as well as factory, but I’ve had success with it on black ox heads. Adding a penetrating sealer will make the refresh last longer.

Interesting. Difficult or easy? And would you say clean them first or is it all-in-one? If I did something lesser, such as using CLR, what would that do?

Nice wedges. I like the 60 a lot and I usually do not like a 60.

Just shot 37-42 with a quadruple bogey on a par 3. I played my 'ninja' bag. 13* 3w as my driver, 15* 3w, 2i-PW BB, 53* and 60* black wedges, and last but not least my Piretti Bossa. And wow were my BBs on FIRE! Worst shot was a wonky 2i 130 yd slice off the tee on a par 4 and a 6i fat shot in the water on a 145 yd par 3. But I hit 4i, 5i x 2, 6i, 7i, 8i, 9i x 2, PW x 2, 53*, and 60* for GIRs inside 20'. Four of the shots were inside 10'. And the 4i was from 165yds out in a fairway bunker. 'twas my best ball striking day and lowest round of this season thus far. And wow every one of the BB shots was golf bliss. LOL more like golf porn.

I swear with two sets and two seasons playing BBs, the thrill and feeling I get when I hit the exact shot that I envisioned with them NEVER gets old.

D, easy, but a little time-consuming. I’d probably start with a quick black ox bath to get a sense if it’ll take. Then, I’d clean with CLR or Bar Keeper’s Friend before a good black ox bath.

Here’s the process I used when I had Yururi Flatbacks:

Congrats. A 79 with a quad is some real nice golf. If par 72, 3 over over 17 holes is strong. I count 12 greens in reg? That’s a tremendous number.

Did not get to play today but had an excellent practice session with the CB57’s. Hit some real lasers with the 5 and 6 irons. Love, love, love the 9, PW and the classic black wedges.

Been testing various shafts I have in clubs (and friend’s clubs) with an eye on shafting up my BB heads. The contenders include the Nippon Modus 125 in my CB57’s. Really nice shaft. Others: Tour Issue DG 120 S400 and AMT S400, KBS Tour 120, Nippon 1150GH Tour, Modus 120 (may look at 105, the lighter version of the 125), PX 5.5, Nippon Super Peening Orange and Shimada 115. The Shimada shaft I have is not the 115, it is whatever they put in this 50 degree Vega wedge I grabbed cheap just for the shaft. But I hit it tonight and the shaft had some zip to it.

Played the low launching Super Peening Blue in a set of Pings in the past and it was pretty stout but really stable and accurate. Thinking the lighter Orange at 120g and a mid launcher could be nice with the BB. I think I could play any of these quality shafts I listed and be fine but the Baby Blades make one want to get it just right.

I like your thorough approach to building the best irons that you possibly can. Cut no corners and don't settle for anything but the best with BBs. And shaft selection is so important. Definitely take your time with it and be as thorough as possible. Your list is impressive and without a doubt you cannot go wrong with Nippon anything. For sure don't count out the 105s.

Plenty more rounds to go to determine on my final set up!

More importantly enjoying the journey and enjoying the satisfaction they give me

I switched out kbs c tapes to modus 105x in these, switched out my tk wedges back to my miuras, not sure why I ever took these out they are butter. So far liking the shafts a lot, Fighting a shoulder/arm injury... so the lighter shafts feel nice, just need to get used to the weight. Hoping for more rounds in this week
