The show is horrible. I tried again this morning for the MD, why do I do it? I know it will be so poor. I was starting to think, is this good, and my answer quickly came when the hacker opens his mouth, always yelling and clueless, similar to Gary. Stop yelling, no game balls, and please, I could care less what you think or what you write down for a score on a white board.

 

I cannot believe Damon Hack has gone on for so long without anyone getting him some help from a voice or media coach. The way he continually emphasizes the wrong syllable is frightening at this point.

Damon isn’t just good, he’s incredible. Great person and great host to my buffonery.

 

Incredible at what? Good person/father/friend? Sure, I’ll buy that and admirable qualities all. But as a tv host, I think you might like having him next to you because he speaks like a child learning a part in the school play. This makes you look incredibly good, as we are all relieved when he stops speaking and someone else takes over. If you really do like him, get him a voice or a media coach. I know several in Phoenix, and would be happy to ask around for referrals in the Orlando area for him.

I disagree. Highest energy of anyone on the show.

 

He seems like a good dude, and definitely very enthusiastic. But why would you argue with the people that are your very target audience. Hard core golfers are likely to be the vast majority of people watching this show, those same people that post here. How many posts have you read here that think he really adds anything to the show? Outside of volume?

 

He probably is great to work with. But those of us on the other side of the camera don’t care about that. We care about what he adds to the show.

I’m having a great 2019. I really do enjoy this site and getting to talk golf. RDD basically said as much in this thread that he kinda wants to be the new Charlie.

This morning wasnt TOO bad, but it's not a show I make an effort to watch anymore. What DOES make it a good/even great show is when they have current/former players on who know what they're talking about. Having a bunch of writers/anncrs pontificate rarely works for me.

Bill, Bill, Bill, they have former players on - Paige and RDD pretty much every weekday since Jan. 2, Charlie was on before in addition, others are in from time to time and on weekends. By your estimation should be a good/even great show!

I respect his opinion too (just like most people’s on here ) but it doesn’t make anyone else’s wrong.

 

I think if a poll were started with simple yes of no whether people like him on the show, the results would be pretty clear.

I googled a pic. Yeah, you're great on the show, now that I know who's who, lol. Lat time I watched there was someone else on there that offered some great insight. Cant remember who. Honestly, paige is not a strong anncr, but I'm a sucker for brunettes.

No all kidding aside Holly Sonders and her impossibly good looks napalmed that show from the moment she gave the first weather report. (remember that? jeeezus) Eric Kuselias couldn't keep it professional so he put a ring on it. Matt Ginella made one innapropriate comment about Holly being hot on air and he was put on permanent assignment doing golf travel reports. Then Holly quits for FOX, and they hired a less hot clone and Paige to replace her. Brandell marries the less hot clone. Oh and all the while Gary has turned into even more of a quarter zip sweater wearing creep. I like many, long for the humble mike & mike style show with starch collar gary, eric the jock and Holly before she figured out she was a knock out.

I will agree with you though that the simpler set with fewer hosts was more watchable. It seems like a zoo now.

Many mornings I go from watching Golic and Wingo to watching Morning Drive, and the main difference is that Golic and Wingo is a radio show that happens to be on TV. It lends to a more relaxed atmosphere than having to play to the cameras for sure.

 

There was a time that Morning Drive was simulcast on Sirius radio, it was just the TV show on radio per se, but the idea was there.

 

How many sports hosts on TV are also on radio? Just about all of them.

 

I listen to the Paulsens in the afternoon and they seem so relaxed that it makes the show, in my opinion. TV would probably ruin their show (lol).
