RDD with some common sense comments on JT this morning. I agree - he's walking a fine line with the fans.

 

Said in another thread, and no way I know what is in his head, but it was almost like JT was primed to have somebody tossed and that guy was finally the one guy he could identify.

 

The stuff people yell is stupid and I can't stand it, but a "get in the bunker" after the ball is gone may be dumb, but maybe the guy was a Noren fan and wanted it to go in the bunker, lol, that just doesn't seem like a "tossable" offense to me. Haven't seen any more about it, if the guy had been a problem on other holes that's a different issue maybe, but didn't seem that way.

 

He may wish he had handled that particular fan differently.

 

He won't be getting people tossed in Paris, will be interesting to see what kind of song they make up to sing to him on the first tee!

On Twitter he said he was taking family time. Just recently he said he’ll be back in a week. But reading his Twitter history, he’s been saying he’ll be back soon for months.

MD reminds me of the cable news networks. When it started, it was great to cover breaking and newsworthy items. As time moved on, there became more pressure (advertiser money) to fill the time with alleged newsworthy items. MD has befallen the same challenge. Seems on many days, they could do a 30 minute show and be done - but instead they drag it out 2-3 hours. With all the programming changes and staffing changes, I pretty much only watch live golf and the Live From coverage for the Majors.

One hour is enough to cover the Tour is this format on a daily basis, but when you are serving multiple time zones you need more than one hour with some repeat news segments

I love waking up to a golf show with my coffee. They give a lot of inside info that would otherwise be hard to find. Some days yeah it's a bore. But 80% of the time it's good. I usually DVR the 7am show because they are fresh and excited. The 9am is like them live repeating the same stuff, that must get old.

I don't believe there is anything nefarious between Rymer and GC. He will still be an on-air personality albeit with a significantly scaled back work schedule.

 

Rymer is an "empty-nester" and is moving to Myrtle Beach, where he is the unofficial mayor. A scaled back work schedule was required for him and his wife to accomplish those goals.

Haven't read but a few posts in the thread but isn't Rymer trying to play in Champion Tour events in 2019? Thought he played in a few events at the end of the season but don't remember seeing any mind boggling scores.

Agree 100%. Also made 140k on web.com (Nike) tour. Still not enough to retire on.
