What shaft options were available for the driving iron?

Would you guys say that there would be any benefit in the DI over spec’ing out a 0311XF 3 iron to play at 17* with a steelfiber 95?

I have had both the pxg 0311x and 0311xf in the 3 irons.

The X model is about the same length heel to toe as the XF, but is chunkier with about 20% more TPE inside the cavity.

And the X is very forgiving with a very soft feel, but the XF is no slouch for a long iron.

The other difference is that the offset in the X is minimal by comparison to the XF.

Thanks for the insight.

I think I may just go with the XF 3 iron 1* strong with a steelfiber 95. It seems that it would make for a great forgiving driving iron.

WOW!!

Went and hit the 0311 during lunch at the local course. Hit the 3h, 4, 5, 7 & W, was like BUTTER!! VERY VERY IMPRESSED!!! Wasn't able to hit the driver, but now I can really possibly see myself sooner than later picking these up. Driver thru PW!

What shaft did you try and did you compare to current irons?

The ONLY gripe I came away with is the PXG grips are in my opinion, GARBAGE! Easily fixable but my only complaint!

Is the factory grip a Lamkin Z5 just PXG branded?

Yeah I believe that is what they were, as hot as it was down here slippage was terrible, almost scary!

I do agree though, grip options would definitely be a plus!

Think they used to be Pure. I have z5 on my iBlades and like them but maybe the PXG branded ones aren’t as good.

That driving iron is sounding more and more appealing.

Called pxg and confirmed that the gen1 driving iron is in fact part of the program.

Those ordering a putter online. Make sure the specs at the end are correct. I was messing with diff weights and noticed the cart showed standard 350g putter and not the 400g I configured.

J-rob, the driving iron had the option of steel fiber 70 and accurate 90 for graphite. For an up charge you can get the steel fiber 95 special ordered. They can also do hard/soft stepping which I know nothing about.
