Rory or Jordan

Looks like Spieth at the moment but let's wait until today's round. Rory is 4 back, which is fewer shots than both Harrington and Lawrie were after 54 holes when they won...

Rory didn't win but he did go from 4 back of Spieth to finish 2 better. At this point of the season, Rory has had a better season. Rory will have gained more from this week and is generally a good August and September player (has won 2 PGAs, WGC and a Fed Ex).

At least Rory has started being relevant again on Sundays at majors, which he hasn't really been since 2014. If he can tighten up his wedge game he only needs to putt average to win. Jordan's putting has fallen off a cliff, it might return, but it might not. What I do know is that Sunday's are much more exciting when both these guys are in the mix.

Spieth will have a vastly better career and it won't even be close.

Absolutely. All this talk of Spieths bad day. 1 bomb putt by Rory is all we saw of him. The chilly dipper wedge on 18 told the tale.

Lol. So because I think Spieth will have the superior career I "hate" McIlroy?

You must be a teenage girl.

Wasn’t talking to you. But I do find the elaborate reality-impaired narratives that people construct to dismiss Rory quite amusing.

^ lol

I wouldn't call it anything to do with clutch but his short putts suck right now. Watching Molinari lately you absolutely know he's making them. Spieth is a fidgety maybe at best.

When did he quit looking at the hole on short putts? It's not working.

They both have problems at the moment. For Rory, it's general. His spectacular tee shot is having to compensate for what is a pretty average overall game. His chipping is OK, but his approach shots are desperately weak and his putting is lack lustre and unconvincing. He's always been a bit streaky, but now he seems to have to rely on outright luck -like his eagle putt - to give him a chance of winning. For some reason it looks like his heart isn't really in the game anymore.

For Jordan, his putting has to be a big worry. When Rory misses them it's like he is misreading the line or not concentrating properly. When Jordan starts missing, it's like he's got the yips. That's a really scary thing for someone so young (in golfing terms) to have hovering in his mind.

Amazing how we get influenced by appearances in life.

Guys like Rory and DJ with a bit of swagger = they are carefree, dont practice hard enough, dont want it or care enough.

Upright clean cut robot-like like Spieth = Disciplined, hard worker, level head

Speaks well, like Lefty = Intelligent, finesse, touch

Shows emotion like Rahm = passionate

You dont know if Spieth is working harder or wants it more than Rory. The only way to tell would be to look at how much work they put in.

Would be equally as silly to say someone like Rahm has more passion and get more emotional than someone like Dufner. It is just appearances, what is on the outside.
