So a couple testers have had multiple shaft failures and are getting VIP treatment (awesome!) but what happens if you purchase one of these for $500 and experience the same problems? Not sold on TPT at all.

Well I'm about 80 percent sure I'm going back to the raijin. I just cannot find a groove with the tpt. It's about a 10 to 20 percent chance I hit one and am ???. Considering I had one of the better driving years with the raijin and everything else in my bag has stayed the same as far as consistency on shots I just don't think the tpt is a good fit for me. I really want to love it.... But when it's not there you can't force it.

 

It will make a very expensive tomato stake, or alignment rod... Not sure of its fate yet.

Sure, it's easy, I took it to my fitter who gave me a new shaft. Also a re-fitting if I wanted. Eazy-Peazy.

I can do that if I wanted, it's just not allowed per bst rules. I still really want to like it.............feels like an unhealthy relationship lol

You've had several TPT shafts fail? Not just one, but multiple like some of the testers?

I had my pro trim mine down to my playing length and put a new grip on my replacement. I've played 4 more rounds with it and it's been great for me. Totally locked in with it again, which is nice since I have a Friday-Saturday tourney this week.

 

I was playing this morning and hit one way left, which just doesn't happen with this shaft. I thought I heard something again at the top of my back swing, so I checked it out.

 

This is the second time it happened right before an important event. Frustrating.

 

At least the head didn't fly this time.

Haha! I think it is this particular TPT shaft and not anything Eric and I are doing.

 

I do not hit my back in my follow thru. And this seems to happen at the top, so somethings up.

Have you had any other brand shaft do this in your life time?

 

I've broken plenty of shafts in my day...over my knee. Never had anything fail on my from regular use/swinging though.

I don't think I'll be getting any more to test. I'll see what happens at the end of next month, when I go to Jon Sinclair's for the fitting.

Were these regular production shafts? I wanted to try one so badly, but now I am not sure if I want to spend the money on something that is going to break

It seems to be limited to the LPK shaft. I don’t believe testers fit into the other shafts have run into problems.

That's a bummer to hear. There have been some seriously mixed reviews in this test group. It's been a wild ride.

When I was picked I was extremely hopeful that with this shaft and being fit for the first time i would never have to swap again. My fitting result made me doubtful that it would measure up to my self fit raijin and after a lot of use it was confirmed. Sad day.

I am still very happy with my TPT.
