Taylor-Made's GAPR - low, mid & high - more photos added

I tried the Lo on the course today as that is the only one that looks OK to my eye.

In summary I won't be buying one as the feel is just too harsh. It feels like you are hitting a top flite or pinnacle rather than a Pro V and feel is important to me. Performance was OK, I would say typically 15 yards past my 790 4 iron and I was hoping for about 25 yards extra.

Shame as looked interesting. I still haven't found somewhere to try a 790 UDI yet which certainly looks a more demanding club than GAPR Lo and the Hzrdus black is probably not a good fit for me but hopefully the UDI feels similar to the rest of the 790 range as for me that feels far nicer than GAPR Lo.

I have the Lo with the AD hybrid 85 in it and I would agree that when you catch it high on the face it feels very dead. When I hit it out of the center it feels absolutely great.

I am using it as a tee ball primarily and today I had a couple of very long low bullets in the 246-265 zone. For me I hit low baby fades which is all good.

I am going to keep mine as once I learned to just swing normally and not try and help the launch it was money.

Update: played a few more rounds with it and am loving it. Its a fairway finder for sure and for me can be a tee club on a tight 420 par 4, where previously I struggled with driver, although I have a longer club in to the green. However I am not putting a double bogey in play.

I'm liking that they have updated their custom shaft options by adding some steel shafts. I play a s300 in my 23* hybrid, and wanted to possibly get a 3 or 4 mid. I'm not a fan of how light the stock KBS hybrid shaft was, and wanted a steel shaft in there. I may go with a s300 like my 4 hybrid, or go with something like the Modus 120.

I have been playing the Mid off the tee and the high everywhere else. Love these clubs, going to put steel in the mid to match the high.

I saw the Hi in store when they first came out and immediately thought of an Adams hybrid.

The head takes a little bit getting used to from and aesthetic view, it has grown on me though. Possibly like having a dog everyone else thinks is ugly?

Dry swung them a few times on multiple trips to the store.

Ended up buying the 3,4,5 hybrids.

I have hit the 5 at my makeshift range and it feels really good, trajectory and distance are within expectations. Hard to tell on feel because I was hitting found balls, mostly 2 piece surlyn at about 6 deg C. On course will tell the rest of the story.

I will need to either take a winter golf trip or wait until spring to play them though.

+1 on this. At first didn't like the feel but man I have been using it quite often and it long, straight and for some reason I hit it so well. Really tight dispersion on it and the feel has grown on me.

Can the lie angle be bent or adjusted on these? I’m not referring to the adjustable adapter-only adjustment via the traditional loft and lie machine.

I am a high launch high spin player so for me the original TP UDI #1 and #2 have been in the bag since day one. Tried 790 UDI and it wasn’t even close to the original UDI. Skeptic about the gapr lo, would definitely not even look at mid or high as I’ve never like le hybrids since they always looked closed and have a hook biased. With that said I tried the gapr lo 17, same shafts as my original udi (Fuji pro 95g x) and was surprised that the distance was great, picked up around 5-7 yards off the deck and a few more off the tee. Best part was the ball flight was lower than either 1 or 2 udi which was a pleasant surprise as I’m always looking to hit the ball lower and it is definitely better performing on miss hits than the udi. The black color woild not be my preferred color nor the green accent color. If I can ignore/accept that then this gapr lo could be the one to get the TP udi 1 and 2 out of my bag. Time will tell.

Yeah the low is definitely low launching. When I tested it, I was hitting low bullets.

I tested the Hi, Mid and Lo and the Hi won out, purely on consistency. They all went about the same distance and I could control the trajectory fairly well (for a 10 cap), but mishits with the Hi were better. Stock 80S shaft seems to work pretty good for me. Bought it and put in a few rounds on it before the end of my season in Ontario - honeymoon period for sure, but great off the tee and the turf, pretty much point and shoot, a great option for 220-240 for me.

I'll second the comment that they look like Adams clubs - and Adams made some great clubs.

i have the 3 and 4 granted i lofted them up to be more of true iron replacement but i wouldnt say these are low launching at all maybe the 2 lo. i hit these quite high actually in comparison to my standard 3 and 4 iron flight
