Meh $250 is a little high, but not outlandish. I think the Apex UT was around $220, and so is/was the U65. I don't get though if the tech is roughly the same in the GAPR lo as a 790 UDI or 3i... Why would it cost that much more? $220 seems reasonable due to market demand but $250 and now you're getting into the "luxury" range IMO.

At least it comes in lefty, so I'll be buying a buyer's remorse off BST in a little while I'm sure.

Hopefully they offer heavier custom non upcharge shaft options... 80g is going to be a no go for me at that length.

What's with the horrible sea foam green color scheme?

Speed Foam Green...I like the concept just wish they used the P790 color scheme...would appeal to so many more IMO.

That and it would save me some $$$ I’m getting it refinished in chrome/satin..

Check out Continental Golf. They are a sponsor here and do great work. They did my M1 430 (WITB pics in my signature if you haven't seen their work). They can do anything you want.

Don't get wrong Iron Factory is great too, had them do 2 or 3 wedge refinishing's over the years but I'd say at least look into CG before making a decision that's all.

I will do that for sure, thanks man!

Rick Shiels just uploaded his review of the GAPR clubs. Based off his review the MID should do exactly what I want, be able to play as a driving iron off the tee but also able to play shots from the fairway, rough, etc. with more ease than a driving iron. Really excited now to test one out.

Or save $150+ and get a Ping G/G400 Crossover used. Looks pretty similar.

Ping G 9* - Oban Devotion
Wilson Staff D200 - Elements Chrome
Adams Speedline LP - Matrix Radix
Ping S55 5-PW - KBS Tour V
Ping Glide 50.56 - CFS

The U65 has always been $199.99, not $220, plus you can/could get them brand new for less through different channels...DD's for one. This club is ugly as hell no matter how you slice it. It resembles all the crappy stuff TM put out prior to their P700 lines. Those of you who have the P790 or original UDI, or even the RSI TP UDI should be happy with what you have and not even fall for this junk. I understand that performance outweighs looks, but man just the finish alone should put people off, and the $250 price tag for one stupid looking iron is ridiculous. They are playing you).

The offset on the crossover is a deal breaker for many. The Rapture driving iron looks far nicer at address to me

That was the first thing I thought too, to be honest.

I just don’t see these selling well at all.

Nothing TM is that hot of a seller. although they put out decent stuff and market the crap out of it.

$250, the Low sounds very unforgiving, and the finish started fading as RS was hitting them. The Mid looks decent but again the finish is a serious flaw for a club that's $250 without tax!!!!

Stick with the Original UDI or the 790 UDI.... And...

NEXT.

Marketing is a huge part of selling all consumer goods.

Spider Tour putters, M3/M4 drivers, M4 fairways and hybrids, M4/P790 irons have all been hot sellers this year in the US market.

Possibly the ugliest clubs I’ve ever seen.. last year was so good for TaylorMade design/style wise and they release this bomb what a departure from P700 series.

Agreed. I think it's one of the reasons that they and Callaway will never have a proper "fan base" if you will and consequently need to spend hundreds of millions on marketing.

Titleist, Mizuno and Ping to aesser extent wouldn't make tat like this. Sure they've had a few misses over the years but I can never take Callaway or TM seriously when they're only ever a few months away from releasing honking clubs.

If it's not horrible looks it's a horrible name. This time they've gone all out and released 2 in 1. In woods I can get past looks but irons absolutely not.

I'd be stunned if 1) they're better than the driving irons already out and 2) they end up being anything other than the Speedblades in terms of not shifting volume.

They’re priced themselves out of a market with these especially being they’re hideous... im a ping fan and they’re i500 is expensive but it is by far one of the best looking irons of late also i210.. Callaway with they’re color scheme in rogue and TaylorMade with this they’re so detached from what the average or even golfwrx consumer wants.. if they think this is what people want they’re so off base. The next question is do they continue this look in a woods line? I wonder if this is a 2018 driver/fairway line of clubs

I'll agree they don't look the greatest, but after a week of playing anything you're used to how it looks and its a non-issue. My hope is they fixed the swingweight issues they had with their 790 UDI's. Everyone I know with one had to add a ton of weight to the head to get the swingweight anywhere near playable, and that's with an 85 gram shaft.

TW looked like he was testing 5 UDIs on the range today. All of them had PO shafts..

One of them was the original UDI. Seemed like he settled on the original UDI after snap-hooking the GAPR, but couldn't tell for sure.

Absolutely love the feel of the original UDI 2i. Not surprised he settled on that.
