I might be getting soft in my old age, but probably going to go LCP at The Pow. You guys who have played recently are probably going, "of course", but you gotta realize how much I disdain that and I've always been like, "SAME FOR EVERYBODY". But like I said, I'm getting soft.

New guys don't realize, but that place used to be TOTAL TRASH. Any time you played after July 1, it was basically dry dirt, gravelly, junky. We actually have had some decent conditions out there for this event and a few years ago, they put in irrigation. They also used to have two holes cut in every green and you took the pin out of one hole and put it in the other.

On Monday they did lift, clean, and replace. So you got to clean the mud off your ball, but it went back exactly where it was. I thought that was a good way to handle it.

We've done it so much at the club this year and I've tried to resist but the crap conditions went on for SO LONG this year that it just wore me down. At some point, I was like, "I just want to take a swipe at a clean ball."

City I was thinking about this yesterday and it’ll be tough. You really can’t tell where the fairway starts and ends on some holes.

No, just in closely mown on your hole. I liked that it was replace, instead of place. So it's basically exactly like marking your ball on the green. You don't get to look around for a a spot to improve your lie. You just get to clean the ball and put it back. It was so necessary. The mud balls were out of control, even in the rough.

Yeah, part of it at my club was that the rough wasn't getting mown, too.

 

HBD -- it's actually kind of fun(ny) to have to play massive mud balls all day. It is same for everybody.

 

I'm not convinced on LCP. Like I said, I'm just getting softer. A little.
