It's yet another study illuminating differences based on putts that are going faster than they should be at the hole. The one thing that pretty much everybody seems to agree on is that if you hit a putt with good pace (let's say 0-2ft past if the cup wasn't there), flag in or out makes no difference.

 

I think this is where I'm at. So if you add in the benefit - to me - of having that target to use, I think its working.

My point seems to be included in the "other category" even though I have a name and a description on it. And if I change its color, the color on ALL the others changes.

Fantastic day of hooky at Mattaponi Springs today. Left my place at 830a, a bit foggy out but @ 20 minutes south of the beltway the sun came out and the temps started ticking up. Got to MS at 940 or so and there were only two other cars in the parking lot. Considering one was my buddy's car and there was a foursome on the range - no idea how the people that work there got to work. Its always a crazy place to go - just have never seen many players on the course, ever.

 

When we got to the range, the foursome asked if we were the 1020 twosome. They told us that we could go out ahead of them since they were playing a match and wouldnt be rushing. Fantastic. Cart path only, might have gotten a sprinkle overnight but the fairways were not soaked. Played the front nine in 1:09, finished in 2:30. Started on the back nine and as we were finishing on the 9th tee - we saw the other foursome teeing off on the 18th tee. Yikes - they werent kidding when they said they werent rushing.

 

Bit of a nutty scorecard today. Two birdies, a double and seven bogies. Greens were in fantastic shape but we didnt hit any putts before the round so I blasted a few past the hole to start out. We played from the blues and with zero roll, some of those par 4s played pretty long for me. Last few months I have been demoing the M5 irons and driver. Irons good, driver meh.

 

But an absolutely stolen day of February golf. Absolutely perfect golf weather.

I think 2More took about 3 more phone calls than everyone else.

 

HBD went golfing afterwards.

 

MeatDave and MeatDon went fishing afterwards. They stocked some trout pond nearby.

 

Kent went home.

 

I came back to work and I did desk mediation meditation and fell asleep.

 

Bae no-showed.

 

Kent and I and MeatDave got wings. I also got fries and two beers. Kent had a budweiser.

 

Don had a roast beef sandwich and chips. Also had a beer.

 

HBD had steamed shrimp and O-rings and some Mich Ultras. 3MoreCalls had steamed shrimp, but can't drink on the clock.

 

Kent is still mad at people who like Pinehurst #2. He told me that because I'm 47 my life is already going down hill but maybe I can make it to 52 before I really notice it. And that I'm crazy if I think I'm walking around Pinehurst.

 

2More gave me golf balls he got from Fabb. I had the brilliant idea of putting the box off to the side and putting my car keys on the box, so I literally couldn't leave without them. I got to my car and couldn't get in because I forgot my keys and the golf balls, so I had to go back into the bar. When I did that I took 2More's tip off the table and put it in my pocket.

 

2More usually sits at a different table because he can bet on fake horse races.

City's Work Friends have played in about 20 more Hive Events than 3MoreCalls has.

Oh yeah. . .I don't know why 3MoreCalls didn't want to relate THIS story for the likes, but he reminded me Kent has seen 3 dead bodies at Clifton Park Golf Course and played golf with Bob Parsons two days ago. And, I'll leave off the rest of the Parson's story in case Kent wasn't at liberty to divulge those details in a public forum.
